What happened?

Quite some time ago my little brother wanted to make himself an account after playing for a couple months. Why not before you might ask, to which I don't really have an answer myself other than that he seemed not to care about it. Right after noticing that he really improved, he started to care more and more about having an account, ranking, competing in leaderboards etc.. The problem now is that he gets banned when he wants to make himself one.

Now coming to my GF... Since my brother would get banned when making an account, my gf didn't think she would be able to make one either. She also played without an account for a while, but not nearly as much as my brother.

Both now want to have an account to visually see their improvement, gain ranks, have more fun competing ect...

My thoughts

I think the osu! support thinks I'm multiaccounting and I have to admit, I once tried making a new account to have better stats (fresh start), but after that account got banned, I did nothing, because I didn't want any problems in the future (losing my account). I'm really sorry for that and I can understand the supports decision.

Sidenote

We live in the same house and use the same PC to play osu!.

What to do?

I (we) really lost any hope that they can make themselves accounts... I tried writing to support but they wouldn't answer 'cause maybe they think I'm trolling them or lying. I even wrote to them that I would give all information they want, video evidence of them playing, doing a video with all of us... EVEN IDs...(That was a couple months ago) What can we do now? Is there anything we can do? Can someone help? They beg me everytime they're playing to try something so that they can get accounts... I don't know what to do. :(

osu! version: Stable 20240411.1 (latest)

Contact support@ppy.sh explaining the issue and what is going on. The system is noticing that three accounts/people are playing on the same hardware which sends an internal flag to the game and the game then dictates the right course.

In the mean time, please dont create any more accounts or let them play on your account as that is against the rules.

Information you should have on hand when emailing them is to have the emails associated with your brother's account, the username, and possibly some verification that it is his account.

For your GF, youll want to explain that you all use the same PC.

Thank you for trying to help.

I actually have told them this (except for emails, which I'll now do)and even asked them, how I could prove that these are their accounts. They wouldn't answer (appeal made: 14.06.2023).
Do you think live gameplay with cam would be enough verification and if so, how should I go about it?
Uploading it to YT and sending them the link or directly send them the video? Maybe use Twitter (X)?
Taking photos of his phone having his email on it (and hers)?
As I said, I'm willing to provide them anything, if only they would answer...
After my appeal on 14.06.2023, I waited almost a month (13.07.2023)before asking them about the status because I feared they wouldn't work on my appeal. (They say that if you massage them often, it'll not get processed)

If you have any verification methods in mind please let me know, because other than video evidence or evidence of them having the email, nothing comes to mind.

Thank you very much!

I've had the same problem so here's my grain of salt to the topic:

First of, it is best to send a new email if the support has not answered after quite some time, explaining the issue in a friendly manner and if possible and, if needed, referencing to the old email you've send earlier.

Including the username/email address of your brother's account is also necessary, so the support knows what account you mean.
Also, if your brother is old enough to contact support for himself, he should also do that, double works better I suppose.

Also, I suggest you email accounts@ppy.sh , since this is a more specialised issue, especially if your brothers account is already restricted it needs to be appealed, which is done via the mentioned email address, and not the regular support team.
(This might be why you didn't get an answer in the first place)
If you need any help with wording/writing the appeal let me know, I'll throw in a grain of salt ^^

As for verification, generally people tend to have differences in skill, even siblings, but I do think having one or another live gameplay video would be good in case someone ever questions it.
For this I highly suggest you do that while being offline, as having your brother play on your account during the video can lead to both getting restricted for account sharing.

What u mean invalid… 🫠😭

Livegameplay coming tomorrow…

With all info discussed in this thread.

If that‘s not gonna work, I guess they won‘t be able to have own accounts… 🥲

This is being applied to any & every topic that is not meant to be in the Help forum.

As this is about Restrictions/multiple accounts (different users) on the same device, it is something for the Staff to concern with, not the help forum/Support team.
