the single 1000pp play will give you 1000pp, the 10 100pp plays will give much less.

Also, one 1000pp play is 1000 levels harder than a 100pp play. You won't set a 1000pp play anytime soon.
In fact there are people in the top 100 with hundreds to thousands of hours of play without a single 1000. I think you're severely underestimating how this game works.
