im trying to learn to alternate, but ngl im having a bit of a hard time. ive been onetapping since i started osu, but im kinda forced to learn alternating in order to play harder maps.
(i've tried changing my dominant finger to make the change easier and i can kinda alternate sliders, but jumps are still quite hard to get a hang off)

anyone got any tips on how to improve? thank you in advance for any useful tips :)<3
oh if there are some specific maps that are really good for alternating, i'd love to know those aswell :D

Probably just get start alternating if you haven't already. You will get used to it over time

You might already knew to tap 1-2-1 / 2-1-2 on three note burst. The idea can extend there to hitting small aim with it. You might find certain patterns to be more comfortable to alt rather than singletap, so use alternating to supplement your tapping need. If you can't alternate on jumps then it can wait. Take this with grain of salt though as I am someone who don't singletap unless it's a really niche weird rhythm moment.

You want to play alt maps with lower bpm (typical being 160 - 190bpm)

beatmapsets/1933914#osu/4001077
beatmapsets/913720#osu/2113825
beatmapsets/1170697#osu/2506205
beatmapsets/528000#osu/3533423 (doubled bpm)

Be aware of doubled bpm alt maps. They have more tight window hit so you kind of have to hit more precise in timing. It's quite easy to miss due to late tapping.

Repetition is always the best thing so don't worry if it's hard the first days

you can take a stream map and using lazer mods or osu trainer lower the bpm to 100-130 (or even lower) or play low bpm long stream practice to get your hands used to alternating and from this point you will probably be able to play some alt aim control, later when your fingers "get synchronized with aiming hand" you will be able to implement alt into high bpm jumps

or just jump straight into trying to full alt maps if you are a real hardcore gamer B) (it will probably be faster) but your acc will suffer at first, its normal

we grind those 🤑🤑
