Welcome to Duck Cup: Mandarin Edition (aka DC5). We're back with another badged tournament after a long time, keeping everything that made Duck Cup fun and adding some more onto it. This time around there's also a significant increase in rank, as I'm trying to slowly transition towards open rank with my tournaments, but noticed (back in like May when I started thinking about this) that there aren't that many 3 and 4 digit tournaments. Also i realise this could cause some confusion: It's the ducks that are mandarin ducks, this tournament is international and organisation will happen in English.

There is no BWS criteria, however the collective badgecount of a team can add up to a maximum of 8 badges. If a singular player has more than 8 badges, they may still play with teammates that don't have any badges. Only osu!standard tournament badges count, and pending badges do not count. They will be checked before signups end though, so please announce the tournament administration if your badge count changes after your signup form has been submitted.

Team Registration Form

If you already have a team that you want to sign up with ready, use this form; Members may be added/changed/removed after the form has been submitted as well by pinging a spreadsheeter in the designated #team-changes discord channel.

Free Agent Registration Form

If you want to play in the tournament but you don’t have a team yet, you have the option of signing up as a free agent(FA). As a FA you have the possibility of forming your own team with other FAs or joining another already formed team that has space for one more member. That can be done by resubmitting a team registration form with the final team.

If you wish to sign up as a streamer or commentator it can be done by messaging RatonGolzache on osu! or Discord (via our server). Streamers and commentators are allowed to play in the tournament, however referees are not until they are eliminated.

  • -Format: 2v2, Ro32, double elimination
-Team Size: min 2 players, max 4 players
-At least 2 players in every team must be in the discord server!
-Rank Range: 200 - 15000 (No buffer, you have to be within the rank range until signups close. That means that when regs end, the ranks will be locked and anyone outside the rank range will be eliminated.)
    -ScoreV2, TeamVS
    -No BWS
-There will be a qualifiers stage and the top 32 teams will move on to the main tournament!
-Mappool difficulty will span between 6.7* and 7.7*
    -Match structure:
    Ro32: Bo9 | 1 Ban
    Ro16: Bo9 | 1 Ban
    QF: Bo11 | 2 Bans
    SF: Bo11 | 2 Bans
    F: Bo13 | 2 Bans
    GF: Bo13 | 2 Bans

  • General Rules

-Invites will be sent to team captains 5-10 minutes before match start by the referee.
-If the team captain cannot make it, one of the other two players will receive the invite.
-Team members have up to 5 minutes after match start to show up. If they don't the match will be considered a forfeit.
-If you cannot make to the match it is possible to reschedule up until 24 hours before the match. Rescheduling requires both teams to agree on a time. Late reschedules will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
-If neither team shows up to the match in time, the higher seeded team will advance, although it is forbidden to abuse this rule to win matches by refusing to consider a reschedule.
-We do not allow async matches and will not give a referee for them, as we expect at least minimal time investment from the players.
-After the lobby is created, both captains will do !roll.
-The higher roll wins and gets to pick between either first/second pick or first/second ban. For example, if the roll winner chooses to pick first, then the roll loser can choose if they want to ban first or second and vice versa. (There is a second explanation for this rule on the discord server in the #match-procedure channel)
-NFV2 is enforced on all maps.
-If the map ends in a draw, it will be replayed.
    -No warmup maps are allowed.

    Picks and bans

-You can pick two maps (or more) from the same mod pool in a row, however you cannot ban two maps from the same mod pool (excluding nomod).
    -Ban format: abba
-Each team has the right to a 120 seconds timeout period once per match.
-Captains/ chosen players have 120 seconds to pick or ban a map. If they fail to do so within the required time their timeout will be used, as it is considered they need more time to make the decision. If they fail to pick or ban within the given time again or they already used their timeout their pick/ban will be skipped.
-If a player leaves a map within 30 seconds after its start the referee may abort the map. This can only be done once per team per match.

    Freemod Rules:

-Each team must have at least 1 unique mod on every player active on the same map. The following count as unique mods:
    HD / EZ / EZHD
    HR / HDHR
FL / any mod combination that contains FL
SD is not an allowed mod
    -EZ multiplier is 1.7x score.
-TB may be played with any mod combination (Allowed mods: HD, HR, EZ, FL), including NM only. TB also has NF enforced

  • Any supporter prize is dependent on donations and therefore will be announced later in the tournament. For now, the prizes consist of:
-First place: Profile Badge (pending) + Profile Banner + TBD Supporter Prize
-Second place: Profile Banner + TBD Supporter Prize
-Third place: Profile Banner + TBD Supporter Prize
Bounties: Along the tournament everyone in the discord server will have the option to put up "bounties" related to the tournament. For example one of our recurring bounties involves drawing a duck with smoke during the match, all of the submissions being then voted by all members of the server. The bounty prizes usually involve osu!supporter tags.
