[Anime] Initial D: Fifth stage / Initial D: Final Stage: 9/10: finally finished initial D, really good, cars drifting with an amazing ost, it was very enjoyable, apparently there is a sequel coming soon called MF ghost, apparently the manga isn't as good as initial D but the trailer does have eurobeat, so I will probably check it out when it comes out

Boogiepop wa Warawanai (2019) - 8/10
I'd say that this version of Boogiepop was also good, with a more understandable story yet, the horror elements were toned down a bit and the pacing was really weird to follow. I really liked the arcs in general but I feel like many pieces were left.
I learned recently that this only adapted 4 of the 24 volumes of Boogiepop novels that have been released so far.

Uchuu Kyoudai: 9/10:
This is by far the longest manga i've read, not only it's longer on volume count than anything else (43 volumes), but it's also a lot more dialogue heavy than the previous super long mangas I had read, not 3-gatsu no lion or shimeji simulation chapter 44 levels of text heavy, but it's still more than something like vagabond or vinland saga. Also, this manga it's not finished, it's still ongoing
about the manga itself, it's really good, it's a story about two astrounaut brothers, which takes place in the utopical year of 2025, where apparently nasa still has good enough budget to make moon missions and have had it for a long time, which is sadly not something that has really happened
it's mainly a drama, and a really good one at that, the story flow is basically perfect, everything connects so well with the rest of the story, and it also has very interesting and memorable scenes, the art is nothing out of this world but it's still good.
It's just overall a really good manga about astronauts, would recommend

Started really strong but the comedy fell apart in the latter half, second to last episode was a great ending and the controversial episode 26 was... euh... well, might upset some people but it's far from the worst stuff I have seen. Most overrated last episode imo.

Penguindrum: 9/10: I love penguins, they're my favourite animal, so I watched penguindrum
The first half is pretty typical comedy/drama anime with penguins doing silly stuff, I enjoyed that, however, the second half is wild
they kinda just take all the concepts of the firsrt half and push them into the extreme, and it turns into a very complex and deep plot where the drama element is a lot heavier, I like the concept of penguindrum, I like where the story goes and what ideas it tackles. Honestly, this is an anime that if it really clicks with you, you're goin to absolutely love it forever, but if it doesn't fully click, it's still pretty enjotable. It's overall a good anime, I would recommend it

Okay, I had a long time without an anime leaving me in awe, the animation was strong and consistent, a nice set of stories, a great protagonist and the fact that this could have had more seasons... but it didn't. Really, I need more of this, but sadly this is an original anime so that means there's no source material and the manga was just an adaptation of what we saw in the anime. Either way, I am impressed that they managed to put FIVE well-developed stories in a matter of 12 episodes without it feeling rushed as well.
The only other thing that I didn't like apart from the extremely short story (I NEED MOAR ;w;) were the overuse (and misuse) of screamers. And basically none of them work, they rather felt like something disgusting to hear rather than something scary, with the notable exception of a few ones that were indeed disturbing.
A final note: the opening is SENDO CUMBIรN.

It's a very funny and a romantic anime, and would recommend it to people that like slice of life and a little sign of romance. some scenes were also emotional, and I also seemed to choke up to some of them. I was quite disappointed at the ending though, but ehh, the manga is still going, so I can't really blame lol.

A well delivered suspense I must say, it had the right amount of angst and excitement that I expected. Sorta mindblowing too, especially in the animation side.

My opinion
I started watching this show during airing (Summer) around the time episode 7 was released. I binged the show up to episode 7/12 in one day and then finished it today (About 2 months, maybe less after starting). Sometimes after returning to a show after weeks of postponing, I tend to lose interest, yet I still had an interest in this show since I enjoyed the characters, the story, and the animation. Unfortunately around episode 8-9, I feel as if there was "filler" episodes, that weren't as great as the beginning, I still think it is an anime that is enjoyable. I will still continue season 2, hoping it gives the closure and continues the story as I hoped and expected. If you enjoy romance anime I would recommend it but honestly don't get your hopes up too much, as I said, started off great then the writing and storyline descended.

I think the animation on this anime is better than some anime in this current time (or maybe just me) but feels like the quality decreasing each episode. I have read the manga, and quite enjoy it. I would say overall it's good for me.

The Promised Neverland S2 6/10
The story there was really interesting but the ending was kind of disappointing...
It's a happy ending and they all manage to go to the real world of course, but I feel like they could have make something even bigger.
I wish there's a S3 to raise the level because it felt kind of clichรฉ.

from the top of my head. The first like 3 chapters it sets up a story, then randomly timeskips skipping what seemed like an arc entirely, to then resurrect one dead character with no build-up to it in a way that just seems like a deus ex machina, to then start telling a plot totally different from the manga with increasingly worse animation and absolutely no pacing, creating no tension and drama. Add taht with the fact that the first season was a masterpiece and this season just killed the possibility for a season 3 or whatever.Anaxii wrote:

Insomniacs After School: 9/10: had already read up to chapter 90, a while back but there wasn't any more chapters released, recently it finished so I just finished the rest of the manga. Probably one of the best romance stories, very good art and themes, very likeable characters, great setting, this is a very high 9
Neeko wa tsurai yo: 7/10: cute SoL about a neet, already read most of it, just read the last volume that just recently got translated. IT's alright, dont really like the ending tho

I kinda wish they added these scenes to the original series (maybe in a rerun) and make a perfect version.

[Manga] bakuman (dropped): 4/10: I had overall high expectations for this manga, it was about mangakas, so I assumed it would be something similar to blank canvass, this autobiogrophical manga telling their life in a very dramatic and exciting way, however, I was wrong, this is not autobiographical but purely fiction, which on itself is fine, however, I just dont agree with the philosohpy behind this manga. Basically it's about two teenagers who start drawing manga and they apparently are incredibly talented and they're amazing and etc etc. At that point I didn't realize it, but this manga was written by the same people that wrote death note, which to clarify, I disliked. This on itself isn't bad, however, the way the actually talk about existing manga really pushed me over the limit. It felt like in a way it kinda shitted on non-mainstream mangas, and the things they listed for a manga to be "good" I completely disagreed with, and given I was not enjoying the manga at that point, and that I disliked the mangakas, I just dropped it
[Manga] Hakumei and Mikochi: 9/10: really good and cute SoL, it has amazing art, a really adorable setting, perfect to just relax and read, nothing more to really say than look at these panels
[Manga] Kurayami Dance: 7/10: this is another weird shitโข manga, and it was really weird, not my personal favourite, I feel it's a little bit too short and some of the concepts could have been explored more, but it was still good

Oh dear, Gin no Saji is such a hidden gem among slice of life. The story is pretty simple but the way the story is told is magnificent, just like Haikyuu!!, it does a fantastic job in teaching the viewer about the topic of the anime, plus the drama feels relatable and realistic. Excellent anime overall.
Ginga Tetsudou no Yoru 6.5/10 - 300th completed anime milestone!
I decided to watch a movie I wanted to watch since some time ago, which... wasn't as good as I expected. This movie should be classified as Avant-Garde in my opinion due to how the story is told. It features a lot of surrealism, a focus on non-conventional narrative and it's heavy on allegories.
The biggest problem with this film is the pacing, it's SLOW, like, they could have made the story 20-30 minutes shorter if they made some scenes less boring. There were parts that could perfectly be cut, like the protagonists walking from point A to B without anything relevant happening. I surely find a brick wall interesting, thanks director.
Also, it's one of the few anime movies (if not the only one) that has the text in ESPERANTO, yes, esperanto (alongside with Japanese). Mi volas lernan la esperantoj, dankon! (how the heck I still remember some of it? xd)

Doomsday with My Dog: 8/10: Okay, so there is actually a bit of context to me reading this manga. I was browsing myanimelist, looking what should I read, and then I found this list called "Potato Manga". This list was composed of a hyperspecific subgenre that is honestly one of my favourite genres all together, that being, world-centered slice of life were the characters just run around a world that is most often than not post-apocalyptic and disscuss philosophy. That means, girls last tour, kino no tabi, shuumatsu touring, etc.
I know the name is a reference to how the community calls the main character duo for girls last tour, gay potatos. However, given that name, the composition of the list and the fact that I had read everything in that list except blame!, the LN for kino no tabi and doomsday with my dog, I felt morally obligated to finish it
first I tried blame!, I don't ususally talk about mangas I just read the first volume to see what is it about and decide to read it or not (I don't even note them as read in my MAL account), but I didn't really connect with blame as it was very much more action focused, and given how long reading all of the kino no tabi novels would take me, I decided to just read doomsday with my dog
and the manga was in fact a potato manga (honestly i'm going to start calling this subgenre that tbh), it's about this girl who just wanders around this calm, post-apocalyptic world with their dog (kinda like the start of the movie I am legend but more chill), however the dog talks and they just disscuss philosophy, dog facts and interpersonal drama for 3 volumes, and I enjoyed it
The manga is also full color, which is pretty rare to see. I assumed it was self-published like a webtoon but it's apparently liscenced by ComicWalker, honestly will read about them, since it's really not common at all for serialized mangas to be full color
the manga starts being full 4koma, but after a special chapter at the end of volume 1 where the mangaka tries to test the waters for a non-4koma version of the manga, the following volumes mix 4koma and regular illustration, kinda like a work by tsukumizu yuu but without the panel-breaking shenanigans. Which I personally really enjoy
now, the actual manga is more close to a shuumatsu touring than a kino no tabi, it doesn't go that in depth with each philosophical thought, however, it is a very relaxing and enjoyable read, kinda like shuumatsu touring but more focused in the relationships between the two characters. And yes, i'm aware that no one other than me and the person that did the potato manga list has read shuumatsu touring, however it is a good comparasion, they're probably around the same level of quality and same type of feelings

Ginga Tetsudou no Yoru 6.5/10 - 300th completed anime milestone!
I decided to watch a movie I wanted to watch since some time ago, which... wasn't as good as I expected. This movie should be classified as Avant-Garde in my opinion due to how the story is told. It features a lot of surrealism, a focus on non-conventional narrative and it's heavy on allegories.
The biggest problem with this film is the pacing, it's SLOW, like, they could have made the story 20-30 minutes shorter if they made some scenes less boring. There were parts that could perfectly be cut, like the protagonists walking from point A to B without anything relevant happening. I surely find a brick wall interesting, thanks director.
Also, it's one of the few anime movies (if not the only one) that has the text in ESPERANTO, yes, esperanto (alongside with Japanese). Mi volas lernan la esperantoj, dankon! (how the heck I still remember some of it? xd)

ef - a tale of memories 8/10
As I said, this is more or less your typical Nakige anime but with a fantastic animation. Despite the melodrama and sometimes exaggerated reactions from some characters, the series was enjoyable and the pacing was excellent. The topics it touches are well developed too.

Attack on Titan, 10/10
This anime raised me, so I have a strong bias towards it. I loved everything about it, I've been thinking about the ending for a week now.
I hope to get a ticket to the Shingeki AfterParty, and I want to buy the rest of the mangas. (I only bought Volume 1, years ago).

apparently this got adapted last season, I was not aware when I started reading the manga.
The manga is fine, reading the first chapter I was like "oh this is going to be like the proised neverland" and then I read chapter 2 and was like nvm
manga is a post-apocalyptic adventure manga, however in many ways it feels unfocused? It does have tons of interesting ideas, however, it doesn't really explore them. For example, the manga starts with the first chapter where you learn of these kids stuck in a school, and talking about escaping, and the second chapter, which is from the perspective of two scavengers on the outside, and you were like, ah the manga is ging to be about the contrast of these two ways of living
however, the manga isn't really about that?, like each two volumes or stuff the focus of the manga changes. And it's not like they aren't foreshadowed, it's just kinda has these cool concepts but they dont go in depth on anything, so while it is an enjotable read, it 's not really something that's really anything more than it

I recommend ef if you're into romance dramas.

I have no idea where is this anime going, and frankly, I don't care anymore. Animation was great and music was excellent purely because of Kyoto Animation, if it was made by another studio this anime wouldn't have such a high score.

Drama felt too forced, pacing was awfully slow, characters are flat, it fails at being motivational like Haikyuu!!, Gin no Saji or Sora Yori mo Tooi Basho did as... well... unlike these three anime where protagonist is a nobody with no goals in life, the protagonist ALREADY plays the instrument (and is great at it) and the other main characters who are just starting don't get any screen time, and finally, watching this felt like a chore.
Also, the series start with a premise of "Oh, their friendship relationship is tense because they failed (well not too hard of a failure either) in a concert in highschool, I wonder how will they manage to deal with such a tense relationship while being on the same band" Well, guess what? it gets solved in 5 chapters.

was like on discord pinging person 2 like "hey, gave this a second try, didn't get into it", which they responded "that's fair, no worries", and then person 3 comes into play like OH IT JUST THAT IT GETS GOOD LATER, AT AROUND CHAPTER 70 (so volume 6/7). I didn't dislike the manga or whatever, I just had found it alright, and they really really really insisted on it. I personally dont ever believe in the "it gets good", if you just dont really get into something in chapter 1, it's very hard to get into it later
however, I decided to say fuck it, and read it, and guess what, my opinion really didn't change that much, it's true that there is a genre switch from pure SoL to mistery, however, if you dont care for the SoL part you wont for the mistery.

It's a series of factors: Starting by the fact they're the only survivors of a war and are exploring the world, and getting amazed by stuff that, while we might take them for granted, for them it's the most amazing thing they've seen. This made me reflect on my own life and made me aware on how fortunate we are of having everything we have. The second good thing is the direction, both in animation and music, none of both faltered at any moment. Detailed landscapes and great depiction of a futuristic destroyed world. The score is also fantastic, portraying the sense of curiosity and adventure, the fear of the unknown, the sadness of something disappearing... It's just fantastic and difficult to forget. Last but not least, the worldbuilding is excellent and, while leaving some questions open for interpretation, it answers you little by little on how both girls are trying the best to survive. I am impressed by Girls' Last Tour in basically every aspect and I look forward to continue the manga as well.

Shimeji Simulation: literally my favourite work of fiction ever created / 10: It's finally over

Shimeji simulation is my favourite work of fiction of all time. It's the first manga i've ever really followed live, reading the new chapters the day it came out, and just recently, it ended.
I don't believe objective criticism of any film or anime is possible, and shimeji is the maximum example of this in my humble opinion, as it goes contrary to most of the typical structure and rules other works seem to follow, so I will only be talking about how shimeji made me feel.
Shimeji is a philosophical slice of life by the creator of Girls last Tour. In many ways, it's very similar to this previous title, as it borrows much of the narrative structure, however, it turns it up to the max. There isn't a single unimportant line of dialogue in this entire manga, everything has at least 6 layers to it. However, in contrast to other mangas considered complex or deep, (Let's take for example Lain or Evangelion), you don't need to understand the depths this manga touches in order to enjoy it. The depth is an addition, not their whole identity.
At the start of the manga, shijima says the line "I wonder if this is a metaphor for something." This sets the tone for the rest of the manga. Let's analyze for example chapter 4. This chapter is divided into 3 scenes. In our first scene, shijima and majime are buying lunch, and majime describes how her mom didn't prepare lunch for her today, and she feels kind of sad because of it.
In our next scene, they're in art class. They're given a metal wire and told to represent "Sadness". Of course, every student has a different interpretation of "sadness", and that can be seen in the way everyone's project looks. This entire scene is very absurd, and can be funny because of it. In our last scene, shijima and majime are outside class, and they go talk to one of her teachers.
In this section, it's shown that the teacher is an alcoholic, however, they cant drink in school grounds, so they made a hole in the fence, so they can go outside a second to legally drink and then go back in. This is also kinda funny
So what we have now, a little bit of SoL conversation followed for comedy, however, it all keeps the same theme of "Sadness", first scene, majime is sad, second scene, they're representing sadness, last scene, the fence with the hole on it was made of the same metal wires, so we can extrapolate that the wire fence is also a metaphor for sadness
However, is there anything intrinsic about sadness that makes it follow these ideas?. there really isn't, this is just how feelings work, they don't have a set manifestation, it could be sadness, happyness, etc. I won't spoil anything, but this is the grounds for something in a later chapter.
In one scene we have comedy, character development, philosophical undertones, and setup for the future. Chapter 4 is NOT the exception, this is the rule with the manga.
Tkmiz art is very surreal too, it ignores regular anatomy and changes the shape of the characters to express their feelings, this was also the case with girls last tour. But in shimeji simulation, this doesn't only apply for the characters, but for the world too. The world of shimeji simulation is impossible, if you notice closely, the shape of some roads are optical illusions and impossible shapes.
This isn't just because it's cooler, it makes sense. In our previous analysis of chapter 4, everyone's representation of sadness varied a lot. Depending on the life experiences of each student, the materials they had at hand, the language they spoke, and many other factors changed their interpretation of sadness. In a way, the world changed the way they understand feelings, and since people are the ones that create the cities that they live in, it's a feedback loop. We change the world and the world changes us. In this case, the world is surreal, so everyone's thoughts compared to us seem surreal, which on itselfs, creates a surreal world.
It's also worth mentioning that in this manga, the world is as much a protagonist as all the other characters, and this idea of how the world changes someone is explored in great detail earlier.
The fact that shimeji is as surreal as it is, gives tkmiz total creative freedom. They can push anything they want to the maximum. In fact, I would personally say that the only mangas I've really read that are this level of experimental and crazy are weird little anthologies, I mean stuff like panpanya's works. However, shimeji simulation is the only manga i'm aware of that takes that level of insanity and madness and polishes it into a complete, not nonsensical story.
The actual storytelling is also fairly interesting, while more mangas give you plenty of information of the plot and the worldbuilding. Shimeji simulation only gives you as much information as shijimas knows. If shijima doesn't know how something works, neither do you. The world, while absurd, makes total sense. The characters aren't just there for the plot, every character has a life, and if their life doesn't intersect with shijima's life, they wont appear. By the end of the manga, there will be MANY unresolved plots, however, it does not matter. The actual plot that shijima follows is the only one you need to know.
I feel there is a certain culture on the internet, where every piece of media has 200 theories, and every time, more writers appeal to that idea. Shimeji simulation is the total opposite of that, if you don't understand something, it's fine, you probably didn't have to get it. If some really small detail goes over your head, it's fine. If the story ends and there is much unresolved, it won't bother you. In life. You won't always have all the answers as everything that happens, this is the same thing.
All of this combined makes for a story that is complex yet simple to understand. Incredibly original but not impossible to approach. Funny, yet sad.
Shimeji simulation is the most ground breaking and original work of fiction i've ever put my eyes into. I really hope this gets animated in the future. I want people to know something like this is possible, to be exposed to a new form of writing, to enjoy the same joy I did while reading shimeji simulation. And above all else, future writers take inspiration from shimeji simulation and make something even greater.

So what we have now, a little bit of SoL conversation followed for comedy, however, it all keeps the same theme of "Sadness", first scene, majime is sad, second scene, they're representing sadness, last scene, the fence with the hole on it was made of the same metal wires, so we can extrapolate that the wire fence is also a metaphor for sadness
However, is there anything intrinsic about sadness that makes it follow these ideas?. there really isn't, this is just how feelings work, they don't have a set manifestation, it could be sadness, happyness, etc. I won't spoil anything, but this is the grounds for something in a later chapter.
In one scene we have comedy, character development, philosophical undertones, and setup for the future. Chapter 4 is NOT the exception, this is the rule with the manga.
Tkmiz art is very surreal too, it ignores regular anatomy and changes the shape of the characters to express their feelings, this was also the case with girls last tour. But in shimeji simulation, this doesn't only apply for the characters, but for the world too. The world of shimeji simulation is impossible, if you notice closely, the shape of some roads are optical illusions and impossible shapes.
This isn't just because it's cooler, it makes sense. In our previous analysis of chapter 4, everyone's representation of sadness varied a lot. Depending on the life experiences of each student, the materials they had at hand, the language they spoke, and many other factors changed their interpretation of sadness. In a way, the world changed the way they understand feelings, and since people are the ones that create the cities that they live in, it's a feedback loop. We change the world and the world changes us. In this case, the world is surreal, so everyone's thoughts compared to us seem surreal, which on itselfs, creates a surreal world.
It's also worth mentioning that in this manga, the world is as much a protagonist as all the other characters, and this idea of how the world changes someone is explored in great detail earlier.
The fact that shimeji is as surreal as it is, gives tkmiz total creative freedom. They can push anything they want to the maximum. In fact, I would personally say that the only mangas I've really read that are this level of experimental and crazy are weird little anthologies, I mean stuff like panpanya's works. However, shimeji simulation is the only manga i'm aware of that takes that level of insanity and madness and polishes it into a complete, not nonsensical story.
The actual storytelling is also fairly interesting, while more mangas give you plenty of information of the plot and the worldbuilding. Shimeji simulation only gives you as much information as shijimas knows. If shijima doesn't know how something works, neither do you. The world, while absurd, makes total sense. The characters aren't just there for the plot, every character has a life, and if their life doesn't intersect with shijima's life, they wont appear. By the end of the manga, there will be MANY unresolved plots, however, it does not matter. The actual plot that shijima follows is the only one you need to know.
I feel there is a certain culture on the internet, where every piece of media has 200 theories, and every time, more writers appeal to that idea. Shimeji simulation is the total opposite of that, if you don't understand something, it's fine, you probably didn't have to get it. If some really small detail goes over your head, it's fine. If the story ends and there is much unresolved, it won't bother you. In life. You won't always have all the answers as everything that happens, this is the same thing.
All of this combined makes for a story that is complex yet simple to understand. Incredibly original but not impossible to approach. Funny, yet sad.
Shimeji simulation is the most ground breaking and original work of fiction i've ever put my eyes into. I really hope this gets animated in the future. I want people to know something like this is possible, to be exposed to a new form of writing, to enjoy the same joy I did while reading shimeji simulation. And above all else, future writers take inspiration from shimeji simulation and make something even greater.

Tanoshii Muumin Ikka (aka Moomin/Muumilaakson Tarinoita) 8/10
Man, I had a long time without watching a long series, a 78 episode anime no less.
I can really see why some people consider Moomin to be one of the best children-aimed anime, it has a compelling story, lovable characters, and the topic isn't dumbed down. Moomin is a Fantasy Slice of Life, something that deviates from the norm of most children programming, where there's either tons of action or comedy, just unlike (most of) Moomin does. Moomin is THE anime for when you need some coziness, something to look at and let yourself carry on. As this is a Kodomo anime, most of the anime has a lighthearted tone, and most conflicts are self-conclided in the same episode, that does not mean though, that there is not a bigger overarching story, a story that develops slowly, that invites you to see the world where Moomin takes place.
The reason why I am not rating this higher though, is that I have a lot of unanswered questions, none of which have an answer nor in books or comics or whatever. I'd really like to know what happened after certain events, but sadly no canonical information exists, that's pretty sad in my opinion. Some plots had potential to develop more but alas, I think the series would have worked better with 52 episodes because some episodes were pretty weak.
As a final note, Japanese 1st opening is the best opening of moomin in every sense.
Now that I am watching the opening after finishing Moomin....

My latest anime that I am up to date with are Jujutsu Kaisen and Berserk of Gluttony. Both are good anime, but Berserk of Gluttony is just a decent seasonal anime, nothing more, which is why I give it a 7.5/10. Jujutsu Kaisen, on the other hand, is an extremely good anime that I highly recommend, rating it 9/10.

it's that time once again, time to talk on the osu forums about controversial topics that most people will say they mostly agree with in order to not seem like a bad person but which are clearly controversial due to the unusually high ammount of responses it gets and that while GMT do not lock or wasteland they don't quite really like as they're really delicate and don't really know how to deal with them

Inside mari: 8/10: I had this manga in my plan to read for forever, but a friend once recommended a video about this manga, and I was like, sure, this is an excuse to read the manga. So I read it and it was nice. It's a darker gender-swap manga. Clearly inspired by punpun (which is a manga I hate btw), however it takes the more explicit and delicate scene with more respect. It's not as edgy as punpun.
The end for the manga is very predictible, which isn't a bad thing, but I think the way that the plot is resolved is wayyyy too messy for something you know it's going to happen.
The concept of the manga itself is pretty damn cool, it says that if you're in someone else body, doing anything with that body in a way is rape. Which is actually a take that I had never seen and it's actually so interesting. The manga also talks about gender euphoria and disphoria, which are topics I like to see covered
that one video analysis about inside mari which somehow is better than inside mari itself: 9/10
not going to lie, I don't quite agree with the analysis portion of this manga. They really praise some pretty standard art things the manga does which I disagree with, I feel there are mangas that do what she praises in inside mari a lot better, and it's not so much an analysis as much as a plot summary, however, in the second half of the video they stop talking about the manga, they start talking about the mangaka, and in the end, about themselves. And about her experiences being a trans woman.
One of the main talking points is how many incels believe that life will just be better if they were just a woman, and that there is a very blurry line between that misogyny and actual gender disphoria. The main example of this happening is 4chan, and how people in the LGBT board on there, while wanting to transition/transitioning themselves they still have that misogyny and transphobia internalized. One of the main struggle is "oh i'm not like the typical trans person you see in media" or "oh I just don't pass i'm a hon".
Thing is, most of them do pass, however due to the community they're in, they're self-convinced that this isn't the case and never will be and that they're the worst human being on the planet. Not only that, but if you're extremely depressed and asocial, if you don't interact with other people IRL you're never going to know if you do pass or not. Because no matter what you most on that board, you're not going to pass according to their criteria, even if you're cis.
The video then proceeds to make the point that as long as transitioning would prove an improvement in your life, regardless of what your story is, you shouldn't feel bad about it.
I know many trans people in my life, IRL and online, and this is one of the most common problems that I se,e feeling that you are invading someone elses space, and I think the way this video voices out a solution to this problem, while also making a compelling point to avoid 4chan (which every mentally unistable person SHOULD do), I think this video is really good. Shiroi Suna no Aquatope: 8/10: 24 chapter anime, watched first 12 when it was airing, never finished it as I moved to manga only close to that time, I decided to finally finish it off, and it was cool, nice cute SoL with lots of fishes

The anime wasn't meant to have a plot.
Everything, literally everything, was ass-pulled from the writer, who never worked on anime and thought that making a 12-ep series was like making a soap opera...
That's why it didn't make much sense in the end and there were tons of plot-holes, because THERE IS NO OVERARCHING PLOT IN THE FIRST PLACE. I had the feeling of "I think this anime has no idea where to lead the story" and it showed. If this was more like a 100 ep anime made in the 90s I'd get it but... for a 12 episode anime made in 2021... that doesn't work.
Updated thes score to 3/10 for both.

I started reading Hiyokoi because of this thread, so far enjoying it. Solid 7/10, though I'm only a few chapters in.
Ping Pong The animation: 10/10: Read the manga, was amazed, became a tayo matsumoto fan, and now I watched the anime because I wanted to also watch the live action I just learned existed and I wanted to compare. The anime was a very different experience, it's overall faster, more concise, and adds some more scenes. The animation is also peak. I just love ping pong
Ping Pong (2002): 7/10: the live action, watched it because why not, I didn't expect for it to be good, yet, it was surprisingly enjoyable. Although I would recommend reading the anime or the manga first, as it's bigges sin is that it goes way too fast, it's hard to tell the story of ping pong in only 2 hours, so they skip a lot of dialogue and scenes, which makes a lot of the little details that made the original story so good are not there, and it will probably be more confusing in certain parts. Still, the movie adds a lot more comedy, the character of peko is highly exaggerated, and I fucking LOVE this version of peko, the comedy aspects (which neither the manga or movie really had), are really good
