[resolved] Can't download beatmaps beacause of virus scan

Problem details:
Hello, I can't download beatmaps because when I do browser cancels the download and says "Virus scan failed."
I tried downloading from different browsers and still nothing. I also tried restarting my computer and nothing.
Pls help.



osu! version: Stable 20230814.2 (latest)

ur virus scan is probably being stupid, might need to disable it just for osu! maps.

what antivirus is it?

i dont have any just windows defender and i disabled it, still nothing. I also noticed that downloads from osu! website are much slower than usual idk if this information helps.

I tried with different beatmaps too it didn't work

Have you do this before?
  1. Check your browser for unwanted extensions
  2. Update your Windows and Microsoft Defender
If not, there is a way to allow downloading osu! beatmaps without antivirus scanning. As a warning, this will disable the scan from all kinds of downloads, so use it as the last resort. As such, if you're trying this method, always scan the downloaded files manually using your preferred antivirus, in this case Microsoft Defender.

Follow the steps from here:

To revert the behavior so antiviruses will scan downloaded files automatically, follow the steps above, but instead change the value of registry key "ScanWithAntivirus" to 3.
