I have accidentally turned on compatibility mode and it has crashed several times. I tried many solutions like reinstalling, resetting my laptop, etc but it simply did not work. Then a friend of mine gave me an instruction on how to disable compat mode with TextEdit. After opening the package content of the osu! file I was lead to this (link 1), then he told me to use TextEdit to open the osu!.cfg file and set the line CompatibilityMode = 0, but after looking at the whole text, the line was not there (link 2). Please do help. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/947868819358122007/1124295530508451860/Screen_Shot_2023-06-30_at_18.05.15.png

Try holding shift while opening osu!, you should be able to see a recovery window where you can disable compatibility mode

If you are talking about opening the osu! application, then it only lead me to this https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/947868819358122007/1124321947245883512/Screen_Shot_2023-06-30_at_19.53.19.png. Pressing Show Details crashed the window.

Try creating a file called "osu!.<username>.cfg", open it in a text editor and put CompatibilityContext = 0 there, then save it and try opening osu! again

PS: <username> means the name of the user on your pc not the osu! username

Sorry but I don't have much experience with Macbooks. Could you show me the detailed instruction on creating the file?
