I'm getting lost on the mania maps

I've recently wanted to try mania. My eyes jump from one note to another, just like how I follow the circles, so I usually end up getting lost and my fingers not so good at clicking while holding a slider. Is this something I get over with time, or there is a better way?

(I think I should've posted this on the osu!mania subforum)

You should have posted this in osu!mania but I want to say that I also have this problem when I play mania and that the only way I've found to fix it is to look up in the middle to predict on which keys I have to press... Ngl it gets tiring in the long run.

The better is to, of course, adapt yourself to good techniques from the beginning, and one of those techniques is just staring at one spot and picking up the notes

I personally don't know how I got up to the basics, but after some time skill god gave me 3900 pp (Im still trash at the game), so just try to stare at one spot and pick up notes with semi-peripheral vision

Over time, speed and reaction will accumulate

Just look in the middle of the screen and find the right scroll speed for you.
You'll get better at LN over time as well.

Also please make sure you are using a different skin other than the default skin for osu!mania if you haven't already. It makes reading a lot more easier.

The usual way we do it is to look have a particular area where we can view each note.

The red rectangles there represent where we look. For someone with higher scroll speeds, they will have their viewing area near the top (shown above), while those with lower scroll speed will have their near the bottom (shown below).

Do you have any Osu!mania skin recommendations? I've been trying to play more mania recently.

What note type do you like? We mania players often have 3 types to pick from, usually circle, plox/arrows, and bars. If someone is new to playing mania or any VSRGs, I recommend playing with circles or plox/arrows first if you wanna play with bars since they're a bit difficult to read at the beginning but you can still start off with them if you'd like.

Btw, I know that it's a skill issue but 7k is very VERY hard to read.. even if it's a 3*

Well yeah you wouldn't really expect someone who barely played mania to play a 7K 3*. Even I at my 7K prime could pass beyond 1.5*. After you get through the hurdle it's basically free flow from there

I use these two mostly, so I do not really search around for more skins now.
However, if those two skins aren't your type of skin, consider visiting this site: https://compendium.skinship.xyz
