Well, everything I say is just my opinion.
I think fanservice ruins stuff. It exists and persists, so there must be some fanbase for it, but what bothers me is when shows that could be totally badass or awesome without it is ruined with it. I obviously don't watch stuff like KissxSis, but shows like HotD would be awesome for me, sans fanservice.

On second thought, I agree with you 50%. I would have enjoyed HotD with or without fanservice. I remember making the error of applying logic to TV shows while watching it: there is no way those women would survive in that world due to severe back problems from abnormally large breasts. I remember being disgusted by the size of the teacher's breasts.

Heh, I catch myself doing that all the time.

I remember spending a good amount of time figuring out the required current and potential difference across Misaka's fingers to propel a coin to the speed of a bullet, assuming she actually fires it the way railguns do.

We also played around with coilgun-style acceleration via magnetic fields using the length of the human fingers and a few ideal-scenario assumptions.

... So yeah, me and some friends got nerd-sniped by Railgun.

Love Hina was pretty bad. I'd forgotten that I'd even watched Elfen Leid, so I guess that one was pretty bad, too.

I'd also say the second half of Gurren Lagann was pointless fanning about and taking the piss out of itself and its archetype of anime in general, and DBZ is a long-winded, disappointing successor to Dragon Ball, which was much better paced. But I don't consider DBZ the worst, or even bad - not for its merits as a TV show, but for what it has created

Love Hina was one of the first shows I watched all the way through when I was a young teen. I then was forced into a marathon of it last year.

Actually sat through that with a friend who loved it. Never watching it again ever.

Also I learned a valuable lesson in don't annoy the yaoi fangirls or they WILL put ---- on your laptop when you accidentally leave it unlocked. DON'T WATCH IT - EVER.

It isn't the worst, but the most prevalent in my mind is Chaos;Head. It started out so good then just ended so badly. I sincerely hope Steins;Gate's anime adaptation fairs better.

I agree that it's overrated, but to say that one of the highest selling series ever is the worst anime you have ever seen is going a bit far.

Yeah, unfortunately they were the two Gundam series that I had a (very) brief look at and shoved it off to the side as something which is uninteresting.

Which are the better offerings?

Might give the Gundam franchise one last go without any high hopes.

1st season was very entertaining (for me), because I expected regular School Life Anime and got good story instead. Also, every character's different, so it's easy to pick up who you like and don't :-P
2nd season was... kinda boring, 'cause of Endless Eight was Endless Boredom, and the second half of the season consisted of making the movie which is prologue to 1st season... embarassing.

And the movie was very ok. Thrilling and also entertaining, in some moments even more than 1st seaon :)

G Gundam is pretty terrible from what I can recall---it used to be on Toonami when CartoonNetwork still had it and I remember watching it in like sixth grade and thinking "whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

The artist(s?) who works on the manga of 'Highschool of the Dead' was or is still (I'm unsure if he continues doing it) a hentai mangaka which explains why there's a ridiculous amount of fanservice in the title. But still there was some reasonable hope in the anime if it had stuck to the mangas plot and dialogue, some of the scenes I wanted animated turned into filth thanks to disregarding how the manga actually was.

Yosuga no Sora is something which should never have been released as an 'anime' but instead labeled as solely a hentai title. It completely blows any storyline out the door, albeit that the actual visual novel itself lacks a reasonably acceptable story itself.
Might as well add Aki Sora to that.

Actually, I don't see why Naruto, the anime alone and not the fans themselves, can be as bad as you guys make it out to be. : l

It's a bad habit letting other people dictate how much worth the anime is.

I read Bleach, Naruto and One Piece.
I'm still reading the first two out of obligation because I started them and I love One Piece.
I watch/watched the anime for all three and I refuse to say they're the worst anime ever.
I have enjoyed naruto anime during the first arcs and jumping on the bandwagon and saying "derp herp i hate shounen" is a pretty childish way to show your elitism.

Anime Naruto does have a conclusion coming as it seems like the manga is getting close to the end of its story, which is pretty decent now that the whole Naruto and Sasuke obsession has been put to the side for now (thankfully..) and focusing on the current war and Uchiha.

The only thing that made Naruto so bland (same with Bleach) is the pathetic filler episodes..
They both would have been so much more dominant if they didn't waste time doing filler episodes and just cut each 'arc' into a reasonable sized anime season having a break in between would've been perfectly acceptable.

But this is deriving from the topic so back on..

I'll add in Strike Witches to one of the worst anime series I've watched/seen. I honestly wish there was a solid and proven way to 'unsee' things as that would keep me sane longer.

Any annotation clearly says that it's a show about people with supernatural abilities who draw their power from women's breasts. And it IS a goddamn show about people with supernatural abilities who draw their power from women's breasts. Seriously, what the fuck.

You could say the same thing to anyone who for some reason watches a show from a genre they don't like. "Oh you knew this was a generic harem from the start, how can you say it's bad?". It just doesn't make it any better. If you enjoy it, though, that's perfectly fine.

I hated the 2006 version of Kanon (I never watched the 2002 version).
I thought it was average throughout the entire show, and then the ending came.
In the three Key animes I've watched, I absolutely hated the ending in all of them.

The anime managed to have emotional moments throughout the series. I was actually starting to enjoy it, and then the ending came.
It just sounded like the end of a kids' story. It absolutely ruined the plot by saying "And then everyone miraculously recovered, despite hours of lead-up to a depressing end."
The ending ruined the show for me, and it made Mai's story arc the only memorable one in the show.

Clannad: After Story was great until the ending.

I didn't watch 47 episodes of a show just to find out that just about every sad moment in the show was all part of a dream.

Even though the movie removed half of the plot, it still had a much better ending than the show.

Touhou... if the anime counts ....
Its only 1 episode... it hasn´t got any story... the drawings are ugly...the ending sounds like: "hey there will be a second episode waatch it too" but well i never seen one and i think there isn´t any.... maybe i am wrong and it has story and more episodes but srsly it just sucks :<

basically they thought it would be a good idea to have a different director produce each episode but what it really was a jumbled mess that didn't go anywhere. And the beginning was pretty good too, what a let down.

Still, although that's the worst anime I've seen I generally like all types of anime so I don't really hate any, just dislike a select few. :)

Akikan... The plot made no sense whatsoever and I dropped it after the third episode. Another one is Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, and I hate it when people compare that to Oreimo... Dropped that one after the fifth episode.

As for my worst series, can't really think of one atm but for me it would be most of harem genre I guess.

Or because they have different tastes. Also, not everyone likes Bee Train girls-with-guns shows (I, for one, thought Madlax was a piece of shit and deserves to be in this thread).

I didn't even find the animation in Yosuga no Sora to be all that great. Anatomical weirdery, stilted movement, reliance on non-impressive scenery panning shots in place of actual animation at points...Yosuga no Sora was pretty unwatchable. At least 11eyes went down easily, in that 'horrible junk food' sort of sense.

Another one I should add is iDOLM@STER Xenoglossia. The original iM@S involves producing your own teen idol. This anime involves mecha. I completely disliked on how the characters were drastically changed. Pretty much the characters names were the same. (Ex: Chihaya Kisaragi in the game has a flat chest and more blue hair compared to her Xenoglossia self.)

For me, it would be Zombie loan. There were lots of boring things that sometimes, i would just skip some parts. But even though, there were some interesting parts.
