i want to do something special for the play that takes me into 5 digit, and i've decided to fc (and probably SS considering OD8) Yoru ni Kakeru [Collab Extra]. however, the map is incredibly hard and inconsistent, i basically never hit the ending consistently, even after making a practice diff and practicing a lot. should i keep on trying to fc, or should i try another (easier) map?

What's your plan here, limiting yourself to mostly grinding that map? Getting cool special plays is nice and all, its good motivation. However dont forget you still need to play a good variety of maps. Anyways that map sounds like a real tough one to get 5 digit on, if the rank gap becomes too high as you play that just use bathbot whatif command to set more plays that get your rank closer to 5 digit.
Personally though I dont really care what map gets me to certain ranks, because I'm confident that I would be able to set even better scores that would overshadow said plays
