yep, pretty much to differentiate the different program. iirc utau is made by a guy and is 100% free. not only that, all of utau's voicebanks are user created so quality may or may not be lower than that of vocaloids.

and not its not just between vocaloid and utau. people would usually tend to differentiate different voicebanks by the program they run on (and then theres fanloid). theres a fuck ton so you would probably understand better if you just search up the difference on google.
