Facuron Pan!
A map from 2008 made by the mapper awp that unfortunately is corrupted. The best solution being by logging in and then updating it...

So there's the simpler way of downloading it!

Update:
Two new packs have been added:
- EiJi Challenge Pack - consisting of 9 mapsets, featuring many EiJi maps, mostly those of a higher star range
- Sleep Powder Variety Pack - consisting of 9 mapsets featuring a variety of different maps created by animask aka Sleep Powder

Other than that, I've removed the leaderboard feature because nobody used it :c

Updates will now be more frequent again, aiming for at least one a week

As always, if you've got any requests for potential maps we can search for, let us now

Thanks for reading ^^

I just realized that the map here is ranked. I'm looking for maps that are unranked as ranked maps usually have an easy download, if not from this site, then through alternate methods like map packs

Here's the link to the map then:

Yes I know I just wanted players to download in easier way, but YOU HAVE TO BACKUP ZEKIRA'S GRAVEYARDS PLZ >_<
There must be some sort of way to back that up!

Update for the week:
  1. New map pack for taiko maps, containing maps by flyboy87!
  2. Renamed Sleep Powders Pack to animask's as the mapper made all their maps under that name
  3. More maps added as usual
  4. Update to the first post
  5. Lastly, new replay video

That's all for this week, posted early cuz I'll be pretty busy for the rest of the week.

Losu Update to make up for last weeks absence:
  1. More maps like usual
  2. Changed the order sorting from oldest-newest date to a-z artist
  3. Assistance in the form of descriptions (still not finished)
  4. COLOURS
  5. 100 more maps
  6. Many of them from 2013/14
  7. Most recent entry from 2018
And probably the biggest addition yet, 2 HUGE sources of unsubmitted maps!

For players interested in playing many taiko maps made from 2009 onwards, theres a huge list of 600+ taiko maps, all made by one mapper, lepidopodus.

And for those who wanna experience a lot of DDR maps made from all different releases across its entire history, through osu!mania, a list of around 5000+ recreation of maps exists, all made by 31Gabe.

That's all for this week (or two)

Have fun!

Apparently, all the links on the spreadsheet are broken, and nobody noticed...
Making the spreadsheet private until it's fixed, and instead, feel free to access all maps I saved on my Google Drive where I've saved maps, makes it much simpler to access these maps

Hello! First of all, I wish you all happy holidays! :3

Secondly, gonna resume the project, because of the winter break giving some time to do that instead of being in school.

I fixed the spread finally, so it's gonna go public again, and now, all the maps inside of the drive folder are now listed on the spread.

And now that spread has been fixed, I can continue adding beatmaps to it, and since last time, there are more than a thousand beatmaps in the queue and I plan to eventually add them all!

Lastly, I wanna thank Mismagius for the shout-out on twitter which also helped motivate me to return to archiving again on Losu, therefore also motivating our small team to return as well. Because of that, and because of his old beatmaps he hasn't uploaded, I'm including his collection of unsubmitted maps. There are a bunch and I recommend checking them out :3

That's all, have fun!

Can I help contributing? I have some beatmaps that show "Not submitted" on my song selection screen, would you be looking for these? I also have a .zip file with a lot of beatmaps that I had before that I didn't want to delete, so rather, I just archived it.

For example, I have this beatmap:

The only thing that I have a few .mp3s that got some of the metadata changed as I had a folder for osu! songs on my iTunes back in the day. The songs still play fine in-game, though. And, speaking of .mp3s... I was always afraid of archival projects like these due to handling copyrighted files. So it's allowed to just share .mp3s here (zipped alongside the beatmap data), what are the guidelines to help on the project?

I'm mentioning this as I once thought about sharing songs I have on Stepmania once, on the Stepmania Reddit. In the case of Stepmania, I never uninstalled Stepmania 3.9. I have the exact same folder installation I had when I first installed that game (in like 2005 or so). So I think I have a lot of songs that got lost due to sites that hosted simfiles shut down.

Maybe I can also include things I created and never went around to finish them. Though I'm still thinking on that last one.

For copyright, since the project isn't very accessible to those who could strike such content (Konami as an example) I don't think theres much issues with those. And in case maps don't have their original mp3's, it's not too hard to find alternatives and adjust them to the original map (unless they're timed improperly, some are just pain...)

Up to you. If you ever change your mind, I will remove the submission from the spreadsheet if you want me to :p

Alright. Would you be okay if I add you directly on Discord and send you the Zipped files via DMs instead? I might just pack every "Not Submitted" map into a .zip, put on Mediafire, and send it to you. Then, you can upload to your Drive if you want, and put to the Spreadsheet.

It may take a while for me to get the "Not Submitted" maps, as I have to unzip my archived stuff (that is full of ranked maps) on top of my currently installed beatmaps, so if I don't send today, perhaps another day I will. I'm a busy guy that is always doing a lot of things in many different websites, so I can't specify any specific dates that this will be complete.

Edit:

Note that I may not include all 170 of them. As mentioned, there's a couple beatmaps I never got around finishing that I was working on, and I haven't decided yet if I'll share on the .zip.

Edit2:
What's the best way to get into the local folder of a beatmap via osu!? I know you can open the Editor, and open the folder directory from there. Are there chances of the beatmap corrupting if I do this? Would I become the "creator" by opening the Editor without doing any changes?

Unless the map has an undefined mapper (for which then don't even know the mapper) or undefined bpm (I remember it caused some trouble with maps metadata resetting), I think the original mapper should stay the same

abraker wrote:

Definitely should, will probably add another column for gamemodes and for mania in the difficulty I'll specify if it's 4K, 7K, etc.

Edit: finished doing that today, yay, update on this by the end of the week like usual

For converts, if you know where you get them from, I often see coverts be a part of a different project where multiple are done or something like that, so I would highly appreciate if you find where you got the converts from.

Thank you for any submissions you make!

me and Natteke had done a similar preservation attempt in the past as well actually, based on what we had on our hard drives respectively. feel free to take what we were able to gather back then for your project :

http://twitter.com/Nivalyx/status/1205410929904455680
http://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1jrAzTkSdFc8MoF-eLwYSmy3nNKIJUbwZ

there are some more maps in addition to the above on Natteke's collection iirc, but the link to it no longer works for some reason... :(
fanzhen0019
always appreciate stuff like archiving things. this is like building the next gen treasures
i could provide a lot after i can use my old pc. the hard drive there stores the maps i got from early 2013. (i had another older hdd but it's broken. and i couldn't find it anywhere. it stored my songs folder from 2010)

some advices: column 'alt mapper' and words on column 'state' could be changed as:
alt mapper -> guest mapper
alt map -> guest diff

as a mapper, we usually use these words to refer a difficulty in a hosted mapset but not being mapped by the host. it's also an official name since in the mapper section of each's user page, there's a section called 'Guest Participation Beatmaps'.
