Whenever I play OSU! Mania, I can do well from 1-4 star maps, but then when I reach 5 star maps, I have a hard time reading the notes and knowing what to hit. Is there anything I can do to help me with this?

this depends on your skin and how well you can do your higher srs. Based off your profile you don't do well at 4 stars from what I see. Your top play is an A on a low 3 star. You either can't play that song properly or you aren't reading it correctly. Focus on lower stars. You shouldn't be trying to get A's, B's, or even hp passes. Unless it's like 7+ (maybe 6+) stars then sure I guess you can make an exception for that but it shouldn't be your goal. Your goal should be 95ing and above, hell maybe even 96/97.50 and above should be your goal. Accuracy is important if you can't even S your top play then you need to focus on your plays below. Your overall accuracy is a 91.66. This is an extremely bad thing to have as you'll just develop horrible play styles and even bad reading skills. Focus back on 2-3 stars. Keep playing easy stuff till you can get good accuracy on easy stuff. once you 97.50 most of your plays I'd say you're 100% ready to move on to your next step in mania. The best advice is play more. Get used to basic patterns in 1* to 2* maps. It all comes down to muscle memory and how fast your brain reacts to notes. You will always almost encounter the same patterns from lower diff to higher diff maps. I'm noob so at least that's what I am experiencing when playing higher diff maps. I really hate LN maps with singles and jacks btw. XD
