Most people to have ever played osu probably played with mouse. I'd guess the split between tablet and mouse for active players is 50/50, because many of the lower ranked players haven't tried tablet yet. But for people in high 6 digits and above, tablet is definitely more popular.

The Wacom CTL 472 and CTH 480 are the 2 most highly regarded and popular. There are other good (and cheaper) tablets out there, but I don't know much about them.THETM wrote:

Yeah this is an argument for years
most noobs use mouse, most top players use tablet.
Can't really say mouse players are noobs. It's just personal preference and most mouse players probably can't afford a tablet so they use a mouse instead.dung eater wrote:

Most 7/high 6 digits play with mouse because it's all they have, but the majority of active players use tablet because it's objectively better
A lot of players use mouse and a lot use tablet, depends on which u prefer. I played with both and for me tablet is better

Majority of all players? Definitely mouse - just imagine all the 6 digits and 7 digits who barely touch the game. Why would someone buy themselves a tablet for a game they almost never play? I don't think so.
According to this page https://old.ppy.sh/ there are well over more than 19 million users. Let's be generous and say about 10% of these accounts are not multi-accounts, that's still almost 2 million! And I think it's fair to say that if you play the game actively you won't stay above 750K or 500K for long. If we assume every player who has a better rank than #750 001 owns a tablet that leaves us with roughly 1,250,000 real accounts where the vast majority are mouse users.
