How rigid is the ranking criteria for drain time in difficulty spreads?

I'm working in a map right now and the drain time is calculated at 4:13.690, there is no way to increase that drain time to more than it already is, the map has no breaks and I'm already pushing it by ending on a slider where no sound plays.

Is the ranking criteria difficulty rule flexible at all or am I going to have to do a hard difficulty because of one second?

In any case it helps in case someone has the same issue down the line.

Thanks!

you have to do a hard diff, no exceptions are made for this rule

to elaborate, there likely/hopefully won't be any leniency in the drain time thresholds because it would completely undermine the rule

Let's say you do make an exception for a map that's 1 second below the threshold. Okay, now what about this other map that's 2 seconds below it? What about 3 seconds? 4? 5? You'll have to draw a line somewhere. Additionally, because you've set a precedent, you'll have to make the same exception for every map that comes along. But at that point it's not an exception at all, so you might as well just edit the RC to show the de facto threshold and not make any exceptions for that.
