Where the mappers get the samples ?

A problem confused me a long time that some map has variety of samples like piano key sound or some instrument effects, so how and where these mappers can get these samples? Could you tell me some ways to get it?

I think you need some special program or something to keysound maps but you can jusy take drums whistle cymbal etc from other ranked maps
