It would be nice if a mapper could upload a map and select an option to make that upload not visible to any other users until a predetermined date/time. This sort of thing exists on YouTube with video uploads, for example. This would be useful for when a mapper would like a map to be publicly accessible at a certain time that the mapper is not available, such as when they are asleep or at work.
Tournaments often stream map pool showcases, and ideally custom maps are uploaded immediately after they are showcased. This is important because 1) All custom maps are uploaded around the same time, and 2) Every player in the tourney has knowledge of and access to the maps at the same time.
Since this feature does not exist, custom mappers are sometimes forced to upload maps much earlier than pools are published, or much later. When maps are published earlier, this can give some players an advantage if they notice this, and it can also harm the excitement of the showcase. When maps are published later, it makes tourney logistics more difficult and can frustrate players who would like to be able to play the full pool.
