Best way to expand your pattern library is to look at maps you like and recreate the patterns that you find to be cool in your map. But don't just stop at that! Change them in ways that fits your map, analyze why the pattern fits the original map and why don't the mapper do something else for that section,... as long as you're not straight up copying another map's rhythm or patterning with no thoughts whatsoever then it's ok
