I’m new to this game and star is weird.

I think star rating is difficulty but some charts with more star rating is harder than charts with less. What makes this happen? I don’t really know.

star rating atm is p much only based on peak nps and completely ignores pattern complexity so that'd be why

this is why i hate 5.6* - 5.9* maps

Star rating may be weird some times but it is useful if you use it properly. For now you should not see a huge problem with it but know that at the beginning 0.30 makes some difference. When you get to 4-6 stars you must start to see why some people hate it, but honestly i don't have big troubles with SR, just keep in mind that long notes have higher star rating, spam/jumptrill maps are farms and jacks, streams, and tech maps may be underrated. The thing i can say is to never get stuck at only playing ranked maps, play unranked maps too. Good luck and welcome to osu!
