I think driving would be easier and learning too. Of course we shold add some new buttons to keyboard, but this isn`t the main problem. The main problem is the control of speed. Have you ever tried to drive in GTA, like normal people in real life? It is not possible. I don`t know, if adding transmission buttons to the keyboard will fix it.
All in all, it must be simpler to drive with keyboard controlled cars.

it would be much easier to accidentally click the wrong key and mess up some important stuff i think

controllers are better than keyboards for driving though, lot more control from a joystick than 4 buttons.

I know basically every time I drive in a pc game I hit something unintentionally, while my console record is much better.

Should probably keep mechanical steering though, there's a lot more that can go wrong between the input device and the mechanism when you go to something digital like this.

Makes sense. If we use keyboard, the input is forced to the maximum, so does the steering will go all the way to left/right. This also applies to the pedal/brake systems. It's way much easier to use controllers instead (in this case, steering wheel and actual pedals) because you can fine-tune at what angle you want to turn and how strong the brake is.

imagine you're driving with your keyboard and you accidentally press the wrong key. one misclick and you're in a car crash. no thx i'd rather live

Keys/switches can suddenly break down or double register a key stroke. Normal keys are not "stepless" except for the volume controller on some few keybs. A smaller size also make it less reliable and more prone to mistakes. I know some trucks that use a relatively small steering wheel but they also only run at 10% speed of a normal car.

Keys get dirty and are harder to clean. You can drive a cold car with gloves on but what if you have a keyb?

But more interestingly what do Abraker have to say about this topic and is there anything that would be better if you used a keyb instead?

The same is true for normal driving.

How do you even convert the small keyboard input force into enormous force enough to stop the car tyres rotating at ultra high speed?

The size of master cylinder must be larger than moon.

Youd have to basically make it a giant RC car, which is why I said that doing this introduces a lot of new things that can go wrong into the system, and why a purely mechanical system is still much better.

Mechanical > controller > keyboard

Dude that's a weird concept but it has issues.... Many of them actually... My biggest concern is that you wouldn't want a whole generation of mad crazy gta drivers irl ... Imagine u are crossing the road peacefully and u see a tank driving upside down

My other concern is that ... If they use cheat codes we're done for lmao

Then, explode the velchine before it hits you.

It's not as accurate as analog control, just try to park your car properly in any driving game or see why many pro driving gamers prefer playing with gaming wheel
