If you've ever played a piano osu!mania map (like this one) you know it's a magical experience, where the mania interface you know and love morphs into a piano-playing experience. As a side project, I took that idea and built it as a web app 🙂
Try it now! There are currently 3 songs; in order from easiest to hardest:
1. Something Just Like This
2. Summertime
3. Fireworks
For each song, you can use your entire keyboard as a piano by mapping each key to a different note. I mostly followed the osu!mania design so far, but the vision is a bit different: I'd like to make Pianosu a combined rhythm game + instrument, so that you can compose your own songs using the same interface.
There's a ton of other features I'd like to include, such as:
- Beatmap editor -- 80% done
- Uploading and sharing replays
- Different instruments -- samples from piano, drum, guitar, flute, etc
- Layered tracks -- so you can overlay harmonies and melodies
- Collaborative multiplayer -- similar to Rockband?
