Drum or no Drum?

I've been learning to play the drum for about a year, but I have litle to none experience on taiko.

Would it be better to get a taiko drum since I'm already familiar with using the drumsticks?

If possible, I would like to know the difference between playing on a keyboard and a drum. Also may need taiko drum type/brand/model recommendations

a bit of a late response but heres one anyway

if you use a keyboard you don't need to move your hands as much compared to a drum, but at the end of the day just play the game in a way that lets you enjoy it as its just a matter of personal preference.

If you want my opinion, just learn taiko using a keyboard first since its much more convenient. After all its not that hard to transfer the skills you learned on keyboard to using a drum controller.
