Life is the most arcane but most interesting book ever. For something one can touch and see, I'll recommend Divina Commedia. Maybe it can help you better read the book of life.

It has been a while since I don't read any book voluntarily but I'd say that the ones I enjoyed the most are probably the Diary of a Wimpy Kid ones, I find the comedy pretty nice (sorry if it isn't that interesting to you).
