i've been playing mania way more than a few of my friends and they are just better
i don't understand how this is happening because i can barely play 6* and most of my friends have a few 300pp+ plays while i feel stuck
i have good stamina, a steelseries apex pro keyboard which i love and play with all the time ( i bought it mostly to play mania ) and i still feel like i can't improve at all
i warmup on songs i know help warmup (vibro, 4-5* stamina maps) and i still can't set any scores
one of the problems i feel like i have is my skin, i want a more zoomed in circle/orb skin that feels good to play with but i haven't found a single one (drop some in if you can so i can test them)
so yeah i don't feel like im any good at osu mania and would like actual advice other than "play more"

if youre using pp and star rating as your metric to compare yourself to other people, thats probably going to lead to a fairly frustrating experience and is also probably the biggest mistake you're making.

improving starts and ends with assessing your current skillset so you can determine which sorts of files and patterns you would benefit from working on. if you take a hamfisted approach of "make the numbers bigger", its easy to fall into a trap of practicing without many tangible results.

as for your skin, you could always modify your current skin to fit what you're looking for (ie. scale the hit objects to be larger via your skin.ini file) though you may want to adjust your scroll speed to compensate for a larger note scale as well.

i've always played in a "make the numbers bigger" way and have always wanted to avoid doing that but seeing my friends get so many scores was frustrating.

It's better to be respected for a skill set or attitude than rank and pp.

Oh and for skins, perhaps you'd be interested in CrewK skins? He uses a variety of large circle skins that might suit you.

Browse through his videos and find one you like. He usually includes different colours of orbs in his skins, so you can change them as you wish.
ok bye
there are lots of minor things with how players compare to each other, such as their niche, your friends just might be better at denser stuff while you could be better with practicing MA or LN.
comparing yourself in general is going to kill your drive and is probably one of the biggest reasons people get demotivated.

i say you either take like a 1 week break from the game, or try taking a break from the competitive side and just play to have fun, when you have fun with the game motivation and improvement will come naturally.

as for skins you can try these

these skins all have pretty big circles but if they're too big you can try my skin https://www.mediafire.com/file/9f6bps0son435zz/nate_%2528okbye_edit%2529.osk/file

oh also vibro probably wouldn't be the best choice to warmup, dense chordjacks might be the better choice
