Probably because lots of rhythm games originated in/are popular in japan, plus anime soundtracks are super popular
and hahaha touhou exists

For me, it's because most non-japanese songs aren't fast enough to give a "fast", "rapid" and "fun" feeling in playing them, and of course, most japanese songs are very energetic, which is perfect for fast-paced rhythm games such as osu.

because it's good. even though i don't understand the lyrics, but that's probably the reason of why it was good.
