How do you add the "normal" hitsound to the beatmap?

Hey! I've just got into mapping and I would like to add the "hit" or "normal" hitsound

But in the editor there's only Whistle, Finish and Clap:


How do I add that hitsound?

whistle, finish and clap are merely additions to the hitnormal. so, if you didnt add a whistle, finish or clap to a note you are already hearing the hitnormal

Yeah but in the AiMod it says that there is no hitsounds and that they're required:

yeah the aimod requires that at least one object has an addition in it

so like I can just leave it as it is and wouldn't have an affect on the "rankability" of the map?

ranking criteria requires hitsounds so no

hitsounding refers to additions (claps, whistles, finishes) - you may look at some hitsounding guides to get a better idea of what you need to do, though you shouldn't worry about rankability at this stage of mapping...
