Try running the game with only 1 core processor.
How can I do that?Ever17 wrote:

I tried it and it starts to lag again. But not as much as before. The framerate when it lags is now 40-45. It's still not playable because it skips frames and the mouse moves too slow.Ever17 wrote:

I've changed the setting to Low End PC and kept the Frames to 60fps, but it's still lagging. /: Thanks for your help though.storm704 wrote:
click your mouse on the ous writing. It will take you to the menu. If it still lags go to the menu and put it to low end pc and limit your frames.
I always have a HUGE lag spike when the online scoreboard appears (after loading) when I'm already playing the map..
My only workaround is to switch to a local one.. Or sometimes I'm lucky and scoreboard loads fast, before notes appear
Can some optimization be made on this?
DirectX, though playing on openGL makes the spinner lag even worse.Ever17 wrote:
You play on directx or opengl? with vsync on? computer spect?
Actually I many friends met the same problemCracK wrote:
This is not a joke.. I have the same exact problem as wuliang described a page before
I always have a lag spike on Banned Forever at 01:36:327
The same goes for Yakety Sax somewhere at 01:39:360 and at 03:19:317 maybe a bit later.
I believe it's not these maps' problem
As I said the lag always happens. I don't know what's causing this, but it's very annoying and practically always leads to a miss.
I tried just every possible configuration in osu! (openGL, dx, low spec e.t.c.) and nothing helped
Because of the visual requirements. You have to go back to Windows XP, 1GB ram is not enough to handle that OS. You may want to scroll up or down while you are on firefox watching a video, for sure it will move slowly with freeze.Blue Dragon wrote:

Yes, VSync on, because without it, the approach circles start getting a bit crazy (they stop sometimes) and constant lag without it.
1GB ram, Celeron, integrated graphics card.
BEST COMPUTER EVER.
Even though, it worked fine when I used Windows XP. Why does it lag every spinner on Vista, being the same exact computer, just a different OS?
I think I have the same problem, kinda described here.VelperK wrote:
Hey there.
well I have a annoying problem with lag; it freezes me the game AND the song in random moments.
I've a nVidia 9400 GT and multiple CPU cores so it isn't the problem, also, in the last public osu! build i didn't have this problem.
help please
Yes I did, but is a update's problem.Randy96 wrote:
And you've tried all the solutions offered in this thread?
Your dll seems corrupt. delete osu.dll and run the updater.Yochi wrote:

i tried that and its still doing the same thing...peppy wrote:

i downloaded the driver update thing from dell, and saved in the 'drivers' folder and extracted it. i theeen installed what i assumed to be the driver since it said ATI driver and restarted cause it told me to...but it didnt change osu at all and made everything on my desktop huge...like the osu window, it would have a bar around it where i could see my desktop, now it takes up the whole screen...i tried changing the screen resolution, but that cut off some things, like the start button on one setting. the screen resolution is at the same that it was before i installed the driver...peppy wrote:
Something is very very wrong with your PC/graphics card then. Try updating your graphics drivers.

I'm getting the "five-seconds lagspikes". Mine's completely random, and can even happen while playing a beatmap.Lybydose wrote:
I'm still getting the "100 second lagspikes". That is, the game often stalls for a moment at a point about 100 seconds after starting a beatmap (any map). This doesn't happen all the time though. When it does, I check the memory usage of osu! in the Windows Task Manager, and it's always significantly higher than normal until I restart:
I think one time it reached over a GB of memory.
Compare to a fresh restart of the client:
This is happening on the public build. It was also happening on the test build as of a few weeks ago, but I don't know about right now. I'm not sure how to cause the memory usage to ramp up, so I can't exactly just load up the test build and check real quick.
If anyone else has this problem, the problem is the Razer Imperator. The Imperator has z-axis tracking issues and the slightest tiniest lift while spinning makes the cursor jump down and fucks up the tracking horribly. Pretty useless answering that question now since it's been 4 months since the post, but oh well... I had experienced this problem, too, with my Razer Imperator.Andruchon wrote:

Well it was fine and i was just sitting there then poof, it went horrible without touching anything. Should i delete songs? i have 4,004 beatmapsHaseo wrote:
Have you tried clearing up some songs? Remove some files in your computer, empty your recycle bin, and I suggest that you make osu! the only window active.
Yes you should. Try reducing it in half.Sk8rdude4438 wrote:
