I feel like there isn't enough older rock songs on osu and the some I've found were abandoned. Would be cool to have more in the game.

old school rock songs are good, but the reason why it's barely seen in osu is because of how hard it is to just time it correctly.
Most of the songs' tempo are human-based and not guided by machines, which means it can be faster and slower over time without being noticed by most people until you have to determine which BPM is the right one.
But if you want to see those in osu, try to take a look at the Graveyard section or simply just try to map it yourself

there are some older rock (and metal) songs mapped, some even ranked too, but they are quite rare like Zelzatter said, and thus hard to find unless you know exactly what to search for
I'd totally kill for some oldie goldies too, but it's boatloads of work and not always too suitable for game experience either way due the timing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ fwiw I'm working on one 90s metal song right now though

I wouldn't mind old rock songs, the thing is though is that I don't know if I am able to time variable bpms for an extended length above 1:30 because it feels more time consuming when it comes to that point.
