Thanks luigi ;p I'll try and get it done sooooon. I spent ages last night trying to improve the performance on loading storyboards but got lost in a spiral of native win32 api lies :(. Such a waste of time.

(+) osu! executable patching update support. Updates should be <20kb in the future.
(+) Accuracy win condition works with team vs.
(*) Fixed crash when osu!.db becomes corrupt (but why it becomes corrupt is more of a question really).
(*) Team score display uses the osu! score font/layout.

Had to remove a bit more profiling stuff for the moment until I get around to optimising it. Server really felt a hit tonight.

hohum someone has been busy. main change was a restructure of the virtual audiotime system (which is used for leadin/outro periods) in wake of implementing SBE support for intro/outro.

Some people (Am I the only one?) would want to have the freedom to adjust precision more carefully. Regardless, it isn't a particularly important change that could be made, anyway. (+) New tapping algorithm.
(*) Fixed test mode not starting from requested time when lead-in time is present.

I know here's a few pending bugs I said I'd fix tongiht, but I spent too much time on the new timing algorithm. Please give it a try by resetting and tapping along to any map. Here are a few of the (awesome) specifics:

  1. You must click 16 times for timing to be calculated. This provides a minimum level of accuracy.
  2. If you click more than 32 times, the precision of the BPM wil be extended to 1 decimal place.
  3. If you click more than 64 times, the precision of the BPM wil be extended to 2 decimal places.
  4. The more you click, the more accurate the timing will be. If you click through the whole song (and it is constant BPM) you can almost be guaranteed to have perfect timing.
  5. If you stop tapping to listen to the metronome and realise it isnt quite perfect, simply start tapping again in time to the beat and the song will rewind to the last point you stopped tapping. Tapping will always been in sequence from the first tap moving forwards and you may not seek and tap at a later point (without resetting first). This is one of the criteria in order for this algorithm to be accurate.
I managed to time 7/7 whole-BPM songs with under 20 clicks. I also tried 3 2d.p. BPMs and had them within 0.01bpm by 50% through the song. I find this pretty impressive :).

I had my doubts on this when it was first suggested, but I feel the change actually works. I'm not sure if this small lag is caused by the bg-image loading or not, but it's so small that I can live with it. :)

(Also, this is far superior to the banner system which dance games use, no need for a second image file)

Great! I've already started to modify LuigiHann's taiko skin for my own personal use... so can I put a set of commands in the skin.ini to change the comboburst positions now? Maybe this would file better under skinning.

I actually don't like the varying sized lines at all. They look very awkward and I'd personally suggest changning this back to using the same size for all of them.

The varying size does however work on the list of last activities to differentiate different achievement types etc since the list is not sorted in order like the list below it.

I don't see why not, unless it opens some sort of exploit in the middle of gameplay. At least having it on the menus would be nice - I guess I read into the "test build only" part the phrase "so far".
