What’s the highest star amount something can be ranked?

This is for mania btw. Also if it’s above 8 are there other special requirements?

pretty sure people don't care about sr, just meet the ranking criteria and make a good map and its rankable. probably gets harder to meet the criteria as you add things that would make the sr go that high though.

Historically there has been scrutiny against ranking maps that are too hard for anyone to pass. You are likely going to encounter people who would be against ranking such maps as you push for ranked. However, there is technically nothing in the ranking criteria preventing you from doing so.
