This bot *does* exist, however it has been moved to the users/Emibot account
There have also been many fixes since I made this post, so the issues described here may no longer apply.

Note that the bot is taiko by default, please use "!mode mania" to change it.

Hi!

I've been working on a pp and recommend bot for Taiko, and decided to adapt it to Mania and Catch as well.


Due to this bot being decently popular, tied with other bots running on my account, my API key has been getting rate limited hard, to the point where I cannot even test the bot. All I can do at this point is wait for peppy to give me a bot account, which might take a month or more. I sincerely apologize for any issues you encounter using the bot (mainly no replies) and I will update this as soon as I can.


For Mania, only DT and HT mods affect pp, so those are the only two mods that work.
I main Taiko, so please let me know if there's anything else I need to add or can improve on.

The bot is currently being run on my username (ayyEve), at some point this will change
To use:
1. DM the map link (/np or beatmapsets/[setId]#mania/[mapId])
1.5 !r will get a recommendation, and
1.55 !r [mods] [Xbpm] will get a recommendation with the mods bpm given (note the bpm must have "bpm" after)

Mods that change the star rating (DT, HT) do have an effect on pp. It is better to consider maps with those mods as separate maps from their no-mod counterparts.

Also, you should find a way to differentiate between different keycounts, since the skill of a player varies wildly between them.

I do that with other modes, I technically consider every possible mod combination its own thing, I'll add DT and HT to the rankings for next update.

This is already a setting (only accessible via the gui atm), I'll add a command for it next update

A couple of years ago an user called Alexmal made a mania bot with features such as recommendations and PP calculation for 4K and 7K only. It was limited for no-mod maps that had leaderabords (So no WIP, pending or graveyard and no DT/HT).

This is the thread for that bot if you're curious. Maybe you can get more ideas out of it, who knows.

If you get to implement DT/HT plus the new ideas you've described on thread already, that would be fantastic.

I'll take it for a spin soon. Thanks for sharing and best wishes on your project.

definitely a nice concept. only problem is that i'd imagine (at least for 4key) everyone already knows the handfull of pp maps above like 5stars. it loses usefulness for higher ranked players pretty fast

Usually high ranking players already know all the pp maps, no matter the mode.
For the most part it will be lower ranked players using the bot anyways, so its not really a big issue imo

Yea the sad truth is that there isn't enough high star pp maps for this to be of any benefit.

Total of 212 mapsets with maps greater than 5 stars ranked. That's counting all keys. Leave just 4k, then take out any non farm map. You are left with maybe 20.

maybe not to higher ranked players, but i think it would be a good place to go for lower ranked players to find some maps.
i know i'd use it
