I want the right background to show on the beatmap listing / preview

each difficulty of my map has a different background for its guest difficulty, I want the top diff background to be the one to be shown in preview, not the advanced difficulty

try this:
  1. move all diffs that don't use your preferred bg out of your beatmapset's folder
  2. upload
  3. check webpage (takes a few seconds to change)
  4. reupload the other diffs
  5. ...
  6. profit.

The preview is the one the game decide for you. It select a difficulty for your level and use the background this difficulty and caches it.

Aka what you've done is only local. This is not something you can control.

nope, the background shown on the site is the one in the diff with the smallest ID so it does work and you can absolutely control it

read it as "diff with the smallest IQ" first and thought that I'd be having quite good shots at having my BG appear
