i can't seem to figure out how to add images/sprites, whatever you want to call them, without adding them to all the difficulties of the beatmap, can someone tell me how to add images to only one difficulty?

If you're referring to the storyboard, in the side panel, make sure you have the DIFF.SPECIFIC option checked before placing the sprites on the map, which works for the storyboard to create and observe that difficulty
