Daru, thing about touchscreens is that when you see some touchscreen player replays, you gonna see some strange movements, like teleporting/VERY fast moving cursor in strange ways, it almost looks like a bot, but it isn't, you can watch Bikko's replays to see that.

I wasn't saying that touchscreens were illegal, I was saying that using a touchscreen will make you much more suspicious if you use HD+FL.

Though honestly, if osu knows you're cheating somehow automatically, can't osu just refuse the score? And if osu doesn't know that you're cheating automatically and has to rely on top scores, how could you ever not know that the hack was still on?

Automatically denying scores would make it much easier for cheaters to modify their cheats to bypass the protection.

I think its important to note that we the regular users of osu! do not handle cheaters/score reports. That's (probably) left up to the few admins we have (as it rightly should be). I'm pretty sure they know the current system and will make improvements based on their needs. Since we can't use the system, how can we say what to do to improve it?

I have heard rumors, and had people confront me with the fact, that I reported Ignacio after my battle with him on this map.

I do not resort to witch-hunting when I am bested. I resort to improving myself, which I did. I am surprised and disappointed to find that Ignacio is a cheater, I do not approve of cheaters ruining the fun of the game.

* He wanted to do better at FL mod.
* He was experimenting and got carried away.
* Someone sharing his PC installed the cheat and he started using it and couldn't stop.

There was a warning.

First there was the first wave of cheaters. That was the warning.

The punishment was that the player was banned. Is that so hard to comprehend? This isn't rocket science.

I like how if a 'famous' or 'pro' player gets banned for cheating, everybody goes "OH NO HE DIDN'T CHEAT".

also agree w/ azure, there were PLENTY of warnings and second chances. In fact, this time people are still getting second chances [score wipes and not bans if they admitted], which I don't necessarily agree with but still, it's more than they deserve.

It's not our [legit players] faults that people don't use their head before they cheat.

so you're saying that u want to show a video of him not cheating to prove what? .. it's already known about real facts that he cheated in at least 10 maps submitting maps with FL hack , so making a video of him not cheating will prove absolute nothing.

I really think I need to write up a blog post about the whole... cheating thing. It totally leaves me in awe that people are still willing to side with accused cheaters against the creator of a game to try and prove their innocence. They are standing up for what are in most cases complete strangers that they have had no contact outside an online chat room. I've been through the backlash of various regional communities fighting against me to have someone proven innocent (note that no-one yet has been falsely accused) and am getting quite sick of it.

Banning cheaters is a necessary action to take, but I don't like spending too much time on it. In the last two weeks I have spent over 20 hours working on improving the automation of the ban process, adding tools so others can help ban cheaters etc. This is time that could be spent improving osu! for those that don't cheat. Of course, this time is time which I chose to allocate to this task in order to keep people happy and keep the online rankings fair. Having to deal with multiple email threads, abuse being yelled at me on IRC and a lot of forum PMs is something I don't want to spend my time on.

If you don't agree with my decisions on who is cheating, then please take this opportunity to leave osu! and find something else to play instead. I am not interested in offerings of videos proving anything, as they don't help. Nor am I interested in knowing that you know a cheater in real life and your opinion that they would never cheat.

If you choose this option, I do suggest you should reconsider how much you trust other human beings, and who your friends are. My judgements are both automatically deducted (in a way that can't be wrong. as in 100%. 101% if you like) and checked individually by myself or another administrator just in case.
