osu!mages Cup 2019
The tournament, osu!mages Cup, is a community-based singles osu!mania tournament dedicated to the students of Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL) located in Laguna, Philippines.
This tournament is unofficial and community-driven therefore the institution, Malayan Colleges Laguna, and its official staff organization(s) are not accountable to all the decisions and actions made by the osu!mages Cup staff within the tournament.

Ruleset
The following ruleset is adapted from OWC (osu! World Cup), MWC4K (Mania World Cup 4k), and oPHF2018 (osu!Philippines Holiday Friendlies 2018). The ruleset is prior to change with or without further notice.
Eligibility
Eligibility
- The user must be a currently enrolled MCL Student - either SHS (Senior High School) or College student, in the current term (T3 - 2019).
- The user must not have any violation within the osu! community rules for the past 90 days prior to the end of registration period.
- THE TOURNAMENT STAFF HAS THE RIGHT TO REVOKE A PLAYER'S REGISTRATION IF THERE IS ENOUGH EVIDENCE AGAINST THEM.
- The osu!mages Cup will adapt a Qualifier Round which proceeds to a 1v1 double-elimination bracket. Seeding will be based on qualifier results. The top 8 total high-scorers will proceed to the double-eliminations. Tournament format could change depending on number of players. This also affects match schedules.
Qualifying Round
- All of the scoring in beatmaps is based on Score V2.
- The beatmaps for each round will be announced by the Map Selector in advance before the actual matches take place (3 days at least)
- Match schedule times will be given by the tournament management. Players must inform the staff immediately for rescheduling. Standard times of matches are within the range of 10:00 to 22:00 (UTC+8).
- If no staff or referee is available, the match will be postponed.
- Use of the Visual Settings to alter background dim or disable beatmap elements like storyboards and skins are allowed.
- Disconnections within the song shall be up to the referee's discretion.
- Players are only given 10 minutes to return to the room upon disconnection. If the player fails to return, the match score shall be frozen and will be considered the official result.
- If the player fails to return before the next song, the player's qualifying attempt shall be invalid for that match only.
- If a player fails to return within 30 minutes after disconnection, the player's attempt within the schedule match shall be invalid.
- Instances uncovered by the tournament staff (stuck at "Waiting for Other Players" screen, Player disconnection a few seconds prior to score submission, etc.) shall be decided immediately by the staff on-the-spot.
- Lag is not a valid reason to nullify a beatmap.
- Members of the tournament staff are not allowed to participate in the tournament.
- All players and referees must to be treated with respect. Instructions of the referees and tournament management is to be followed. Decisions labeled as final are not to be objected.
- The multiplayer chatrooms underlie the osu! community rules. All chat rules also apply to the multiplayer chatrooms used in the tournament.
- The rules stated above shall be subjected to changes if necessary.
- The referees shall prepare the match room ten (10) to twenty (20) minutes prior to the match schedule. It is the referee's obligation to inform the players about this and ask whether to move them directly to the room, or to send an invite. If the player does not respond within this time period, the player is forcibly moved at the actual match schedule (and shall be dealt by the referee accordingly).
- In the Qualifying rounds, players are scheduled alongside each other to play a mini-pool of 4 notecharts (beatmaps) twice in a multiplayer room. These are only to be used for the qualifying round of the tournament and will be given in advance before the Qualifying round. All players are obliged to play ALL of the notecharts during the qualifiers as failed scores will still count. Schedules are settled by the tournament management and the players. (See Tournament Rules for Match Schedule Time range)
- There will be no warm-up phase during the qualifiers so the players are advised to warm-up by themselves.
- All beatmaps in both modes are to be played in NoMod
- Players are to be ranked according to the total of their best attempts during their qualifying run.
- The top 8 players for each mode will proceed to the double-elimination brackets.
Double Eliminations
- All of the scoring in beatmaps is based on Score V2.
- The beatmaps for each round will be announced by the Map Selector in advance before the actual matches take place (3 days at least).
- All osu!mania beatmaps are to be played in FreeMod.
- Players are only allowed to use the following mods during FreeMod: Hard Rock, Hidden, Sudden Death, Flashlight, Sudden.
- All tiebreaker beatmaps for both modes are to be played in NoMod. (See "tiebreaker" system below).
- Beatmaps given are to be played to the latest version (especially pending or graveyarded beatmaps) unless specified by the staff present.
- Use of the Visual Settings to alter background dim or disable beatmap elements like storyboards and skins are allowed.
- Match schedule times will be given by the tournament management. Players must inform the staff immediately for any rescheduling and agreement to the opponent. Standard times of matches are within the range of 10:00 to 22:00 (UTC+8).
- Initial match schedule times are to be found in the spreadsheet link below (See Links). These times will be subjected to changes depending on the player's availability and agreement to the opponent.
- If the player fails to attend the schedule within 20 minutes, or fails to reconnect during the match within 20 minutes, the opponent will be declared as "Win by Default".
- If no staff or referee is available, the match will be postponed.
- Disconnections within the song shall be up to the referee's discretion.
- Lag is not a valid reason to nullify a beatmap.
- Failed scores are valid as per the given rule below. ("Fail" refers to the state of the player in which the life bar reaches zero and unable to fill the life bar at full again before the end of the song.)
- Point is awarded based on the following conditions, whereas the topmost condition will be considered first.
- The player who passed the beatmap at the end of the song. ("Pass" refers to the state of the player in which the player's life gauge did not drop to zero until the end of the song. It is also a state in which the player failed at a particular point of the song but is able to fill the life bar full again and retains the bar until the end of the song.)
- The highest score between the 2 players.
- The winner of the rematch.
- For players to obtain a win, they must achieve the following points. These will vary across each level.
- Quarterfinals: 5 points
- Semifinals: 6 points
- Finals: 6 points
- Grand Finals: 7 points
- In case both players obtain a match point in the match ("Match Point" refers to the state of the player in which the player is 1 point away from winning the match), a tiebreaker beatmap will be played by both players.
- The rules stated above shally be subjected to changes without prior notice.
- The referees shall prepare the match room ten (10) to twenty (20) minutes prior to the match schedule. They will give invite links to players that redirects to the room.
- After the players joining the room, they will be requested to type "!roll" once in order to determine the first picker of the match.
- The player with the lower roll number will ban one (1) beatmap for the given match. Afterwards, the player with the higher roll number will pick one beatmap. In the second round, the roles will be exchanged.
- In the succeeding rounds, players will alternately pick one (1) map until one reaches the required number of points to win and advance to the next round.
- In case both players obtain a match point (see rule above), a tiebreaker map will be played by both players.
