Shitposter, everyone, listen up. The operation was a success. Erushitan defense forces have been neutralized and all Arshital Birds are down.

However, those two new drones buzzing around have royally screwed up our plans. The Oshitan and Erushitan coalition's shit forces are in a sorry state thanks to them. We might not even have any viable shitcraft left.

According to the Shitpost Queen, the drones are trying to use the Shit Elevator's transmission capabilities...

...to send their data to drone manufacturing plants across the continent. They're trying to strengthen their numbers.

What's worse, their data contains a depth of shitting experience. Newer shitcraft will be more tactically advanced.

If that's the case, this war will never end. We need to take both drones down no matter what it takes. We'll do it so we have homes to go back to.

Well, the Shitpost Queen's on our side. She says she can make any shitcraft fly.

imagine making a barely functional website that isn't even out of alpha where it's intuitive most stuff isn't displayed or communicated correctly and then instead of making that an opt-in third party test site you semi-force it on an entire community as the default and then wonder why the same posts get made asking why stuff isn't working properly by different people who haven't found the way back to the functioning site, and then to top it all off expect people to go to github over it rather than the actual forum for said barely functioning site.

Also i hate infinite scrolling without paging. Gosh darn.

I guess the only thing that is better on the new site is that it looks nicer.
But I don't know, even though I think the new site does look better, I kinda prefer the retro look of the old site.

i think most new users aren't aware of the reasons why the new design is so lackluster in comparison to the old one, but they don't really have to care because the new one "looks prettier" and that's what all matters for them. they don't mind having basic stuff hidden behind dropdowns or having a reply box the size of a basketball, they don't mind anything the old site does better because they haven't used it long enough to make comparisons and prioritize visuals over functionality

and yeah, infinite scrolling can go die

honestly, looks don't have anything to do with it for me at least. it's entirely just the fact that i've gotten used to it. i didn't use the old site much before it got defaulted to the new one. the only thing i switch back for is to quote posts because for some godforsaken reason the new site doesn't let you post a reply only containing a quote

new website looks nice because it was suppose to designed to it, its minimalist looks nice and futuristic, very clean and organized. you hated it because you used to use the old website and cant move on

it's also a piece of shit which doesn't even properly communicate certain things, every day more people posting "where my pp gone??" because new site just shows 0 pp whereas new one shows "-" and tells you exactly why it's "-".

"futuristic"

no paging infinite scrolling is total horse shit, imagine trying to browse the ITT thread on the new site. Or any large thread really.

You don't have to infinite scroll.

There are buttons located at the bottom that allow you to either skip 10 posts or go to the very bottom of the page to the most recent post. Its never bothered me.

I rarely do this, but you could alternatively enter in a specific number for the post number as well.

Well ok there are no black panels, but then how do you access the menu and jump through the thread, and reply then?

also there is an issue regarding the reply box here: https://github.com/ppy/osu-web/issues/2138, but that's mobile
when making a new issue complaining that you are not satisfied with the reply box covering half of the page in desktop something will be done

I'm satisfied with the look of the new forums for the most part.

Flanster also posted a dark theme for it which is much appreciated.

Trying to use the new forums on mobile can be a pain though. When I'm on my phone I have to enable the normal desktop view instead of the mobile version sometimes because it can get buggy in a couple different ways. Definitely could use some work.

upper part looks good imo, but lower part of the page could look like this

It's actually terrible to do anything that requires me to use keyboard in using the new website design in my tablet because the reply box eats the screen and half is my keyboard, anything else I typed around 6 lines of text, I cannot see..

Using the new site on mobile is a massive pain, most of the time I can't even see what I'm replying to, sucks when you big brain, the reply box doesn't go away at all, and seeing as it covers a lot of the site, you can barely go through a single page without straining yourself. Not to mention the fact that more often than not, pressing post doesn't work or gives you a /box

I prefer the old site on desktop and the new site on mobile. The one thing I dislike on mobile is how intruding the reply box is. It's pretty easy to work around, but it's annoying to have to minimize the reply box if you want to view the thread while replying.
