I think your file got corrupted due to osu! shutting unexpectedly.
You can try this tool to back up your collections next time:

Have you restarted the game since you noticed your collections were gone? Try doing that if you haven't.

If osu! is consistently not displaying certain maps try hitting F5. If that doesn't work, close osu! and move your actual osu!.db file outside of your osu! folder (not the ones with the numbers). Restart the game and head to the song select screen and let all of your maps reprocess.

I'm not 100% sure, but it's possible that the fact that certain beatmaps were also being "deleted" was causing your collections not to show up. If I'm not mistaken, missing beatmaps can cause issues with collections, which is why the wiki mentions this if you are trying to transfer collection.db from one installation to another:

https://osu.ppy.sh/help/wiki/osu!_File_Formats/Db_(file_format)#collection.db
collection.db contains the user's beatmap collection data. This file can be transferred from one osu! installation to another. However, this will not work if the PC does not have all of the collected beatmaps installed.
