Oriental stuff can be pretty cool, this song is a decent example. Nice.
I'm working on a new song, so I'll post the preview here. Unfortunately I don't think it's something anyone would consider substantial, so there isn't much of it to really enjoy. I uploaded it here, so feedback would be appreciated:
7.8/10, Fuck this is clean! Great preview. The progression is superb, and for such a short clip too, it manages to be intricate and engaging. 19 seconds and onwards with the leading synth is so serene sounding, the choir-y sounds (Like at 25s, idk what to call stuff) are perfectly mixed in and just add some subtle layering, I'm really loving that. I'd try to be constructive (Excuse me if I talk nonsense here), but the only thing that I don't like are the tick noises at the start sounding a little too tinny? I like the glitchy sort of bitcrushed noise of them in general though, but idk, sounds a little too distracting and loud in the intro.
Honestly, you probably could just loop this like several times and I'd enjoy it as a standalone track, it's calming yet so foreboding at the same time which I think makes for an enjoyable mood.
I'll try and justify what I kinda compare the ticks too, since I think the tick noises at the start of this song try to establish the same thing, I just find them less distracting, if you get what I mean:
Yep, really liking this one. Interesting, that sudden guitar at 0:42 caught me off-guard, which was pretty cool. Even then, it managed to sound fitting. Gritty, heavy, dark and moody. Pretty much everything I like is in this. It's executed quite well. Soooo many parts to this, they're all amazing. Throughout the song it just gets better. The ending was really satisfying.
I'm actually really glad it was still enjoyable! I thought it'd be kinda mediocre or something. I used the "tick" as a little thing to play with panning a bit, and it seemed to work pretty well.
The concept behind the song Inertia is intended to be as follows: "The experience of a constant unchanging flow throughout the varying terrain of life."
I'm making an attempt to make it revolve around that concept.
6.2/10, Pretty generic tbh, but enjoyable nonetheless.
Ye, its far from mediocre, I'm digging the direction you're going in. The concept sounds pretty sweet.
Pretty damn good. Same thoughts as before, though some parts have varied. Not as good as the other one, but has many similar attributes I like. Mmh. A long one though, and a lot to digest. I've started trying to save time by reviewing it while it plays on a separate tab. Damn, those screams around 8:48 might be one of the only examples of screaming I actually really like, and that seems to work somewhat because of the instrumentation. All I can say is "pretty damn good".
Oof I had accidentally taken another nap while producing my music. at this point, It's double the previous length, now at around 1 minute and 47 seconds long.
I guess my song is easy to sleep with, cool to know.
An intriguing atmosphere. Sounds pretty cool. It has a bit more potential and i think that with the mood it's got right now, another little addition could make it sound even nicer, but idk, im probably wrong as it might crowd the sounds together.
Oh hey I'm still awake even though it's 5:40 AM PST. Great. And I have to take a shit. Also great. I'm not gonna be sleeping for at least another couple hours because I have a feeling I'll be stuck on the toilet for a while. In the meantime I guess I get to reply to stuff finally after 4-hour silence in the FG forum.
Oh wait I recognize Cryo Chamber! I think I saw some of the stuff for some moody ambient songs like these a long while back, maybe a year ago.
7.6/10. Crispy sounds going on, I like it, good music to concentrate with.
Aye, I knew you'd know about the Cryo Chamber music label lol. Usually don't really like listening to soundscape/ritual ambient stuff besides when I'm sleeping, but I think Atrium Carceri's music always nails atmosphere so well, I wanted to see what you thought about it.

7.8, Was expecting something different at the start, that intro is just perfect. Sounds are really good, a little too cluttered for me, but I still enjoyed it all the way through.
Pretty nice intro and great buildup. The vocalist sounds pretty good. The atmosphere gets pretty satisfying around 1:55 onwards. 4:33 onwards is just something that can't described much with anything other than "Mmm" . Satisfying to listen to in general, and thus, it's nicely done overall.
This one should be mildly interesting and maybe a little weird (probably not that weird), dissonant, even:
8/10, Brooding, I like. 1:50 onwards give some really neat and different vibes compared to the start which was so sinister, actually a surprising shift and I enjoyed it.
Interesting. It feels like it should be like almost any other song but something about it, perhaps it's atmosphere, or specific/subtle parts in the progression/instrumentation that makes it actually kinda cool. 3:39 is a good part of the song. From that it's generally okay, just mixed feelings on a couple aspects.
That distorted thing in the background throughout the intro and stuff, that was really cool. The vocals are amazing. 3:15 is just a slam in my face that I'd be fine with being a masochist for. That's a nice bit of contrast, the power and drive is great, the mood is pretty hauntingly addictive. 6:47 onwards is a nice change-up, 7:25 is an AMAZING part to the song, probably my 2nd favorite part of it. Again, vocals are good in 8:42. Another great transition to 9:49, with a pretty good part with more drive and power. 11:02 onwards is enhanced by the vocals and now it's just amazing. That's my favorite part. From there on, just... yes. The outro is quality.
6.8/10, the noises sound hella tasty and snappy, I don't hear much of value beside that.
Whoa, really glad you think as much of it as I do! Thanks for putting up with long songs too, I know you said you liked them, so I think thats really cool to be able to share without thinking too much of the length, but that being said, how long would be too long for you? I have a really good song I wanted to share for a while but its 20 minutes and I don't want to expect someone to listen to something that long.
Oh boy, here we go. The test of endurance begins. It's going to be hard to be critical on everything here due to length so I'll shorten it up if I can and base it off my experience. (edit: welp, i became technical anyways. that's fine i guess!)
Also, when you said it was a good song... Holy shit, it is indeed, a great song.
tl;dr for anyone who isn't ready to handle chunks of text: I enjoyed all of it.
Phase 1: So, it has a good intro. Everything is good. It has really good progression and each part is really nice to listen to, actually. At this point I already know I enjoy it this much because of your posts, which have made me even more accepting of even more genres like this. Anyhow, it all works well, and then it calms down at 3:15. Ambience. it sounds great. Little cute sounds come up. An underlining rhythm comes in, with the foreboding qualities I love. And then--
Phase 2: It gets serious at 4:25. This buildup is satisfying. It remains consistent in the quality of its sound. An arp arises, with a nice melody within what seems like a break at 5:46. Vocals approach, they sound rhythmically strange, but they still sound great, and the rhythm gets better. An interesting buildup/bridge comes up. It still all sounds good. This is becoming really satisfying to listen to. More progression through the next couple minutes that are overall just great. And, here, we return to the calmness at 9:48. Sharp vocal clips. Reverb. High attack. Very ambient, and honestly quite nice. The arp eventually comes back in. A nice arpeggiation ensues. The vocals return. They take a break for a while. Back to calm with a bell-like instrument along with some other sounds. Calm, until--
Phase 3: Synths and guitars dominate the airspace at 13:19, leaving the other instruments to the background. I'm hooked to the song by now. The progressions hereon are amazing as usual. A voice in the background makes some phrases but is drowned in the sound. I'm fine with that. Another great transition. Calm at 15:42, once again. Cute sounds, clipped or cut with some reverb. A nice soft bassline to the right. More ambience with more soothing sounds. A nice guitar. Behind me, to the left, a guitar line starts. It sounds good. that surfaces in front of the song and is pretty good. Vocals come in for a little bit. Ambient pads in the background come in for a bit. Vocals return. Everything is nice. The last verses come in, with an amazing mood. High dynamic momentum here. Chanting surfaces and ensues. The song is finally over.
hOLY fucK that was an experience. Thanks for that, even though it did take a long time to digest, I appreciate this song. It's really good (welp, looks like I've been writing this for about 35 minutes or so).
6/10 It's aight for what it is, I just don't think that much to it for some reason.
Ay, that's awesome to hear what you think about it.
Can't remember if I posted this in the thread before, I know I've definitely posted another song by TC before though.
Whoah, this is really nice. I like the piano, the strings are a good addition too. It picks up after a bit and it's good through all the progressions 'n' stuff over the next few minutes. The little break at 5:19 was pretty nice. The buildup from there is really amazing, it just keeps going and going, until the beautiful section at 7:59. The outro sections were great as well. Beautiful.
I love that cover art. Dogs are cool .w.

Ah, sorry, there has been so many songs lately I can't keep track ;v;.
It's alright! I'm starting to feel the same way really, kinda hard to find new stuff I like now that I've been exhausting them so quickly over the past couple of months.

That's pretty accurate xD
This next song just... yes. I just found it today and it's pretty good:
8.5/10, Golden stuff, feels really empty but serene at the same time, gorgeous.
It's aight if you want to re-post some older good stuff though, you got me more into different genres in general so I might enjoy them more now than I did back then.
5.5/10 Still don't think I'm liking this so much. I think its stuck between being relaxing and energetic, likely on purpose, but with everything going on I'm just unattracted by how the noises sound together. Think its okay for 1:57-3:12 and 4:29 onwards though, I like those parts.
Whoah, not even a soft introduction, just straight into the action. I've got mixed feelings about that, but i think i kinda like it as an intro. Interesting. I would say that it has a little too much power for it to really work out well, personally. It's hard not to think of it as overpowering. It's still really great in it's progressions. Back to the power by 6:04, and this time it feels a little more fitting. From there on, smooth sailing with a nice big section with a great release say the end.

Hmm. I suppose that's fair enough. It had the opposite effect on me, I really liked how it sounded as it seemed interesting and crunchy to me.

Here's one I think I've posted here a few months ago, the one breakcore song I've considered to be the candidate of being my all-time favorite breakcore track. It'd be interesting to see what you'd think of it.
8.5/10, I can definitely see why you think so much to it! I dig how the more aggressive sections mix into the more serene parts, thats what really sells it for me. My favourite part is the lead in from 2:00 into 2:17, that's nothing short of epic, I also love how it goes calm again in 3:15 and then its just gorgeous at 3:43.
Definitely a nice experience. Something good to sleep to. The progressions are pretty interesting. Overall I like it, it's pretty good. Also, that-- whoah. Just. The outro. Fuck. That's a good outro.
