The way I do it is get close to the target score, such as within 3k. Then, I use no-fail on a map to get the exact amount of points.

The first 2 hits of a combo give the exact same amount of points as it says on the graphic (ie. 300/100/50), then every hit after that also gets a bonus, usually around 20-60 points for the 3rd hit and so on. You might need to use a few extra mods to get the exact number of points. Different maps give a different number of bonus points (based on peppystars, iirc)

The bad thing about doing this is that you end up racking up a few D ranks :/

Heres how Ivalset/I do it. almost the same thing i guess. took me 20 tries with retry and ival took like less than 10 tries?

FIRST: get your score to ~100k, better yet less than 50k.

SECOND: get your ones digit to the number you like (000,000,008 in 888,888,888)

• 
  -you can get this by playing a song with mod (easy, halftime) no-fail is always ON.
  -start guessing once you play already, like Echo said, first two notes get you to an exact score you get. i think the third note you hit in a combo gets you to have a -3/+7 on your ones digit (if your current ones digit is 0, you get a 7 on your third combo) im not sure though.
  -just keep hitting notes until you get the ones digit you want to have

THIRD: get rid of your tenths digit, or should i mean fix (000,000,088 in 888,888,888)

• 
  -as usual, use no fail and other easy mods
  -do this on SLIDERS, every pressed tick gets you to have 10 points PLUS the END of the slider which has 50 points. (if you press 2 ticks in a slider you get to have 70 points after the slider)

Fourth:
the "easiest" part: just do "2 combo > miss > 2 combo.." until you get the remaining score you need.
DO NOTHING at spinners, and sliders, and combo above 2. it will make you feel stupid while playing but thats the way it is~

this is not the best way but its the safest? oh, dont forget your CALCULATOR while doing this.

I least I don't have to worry about all of that, it's just my overall score, but it's still going to be a challenge because if I mess one note up, I get no second chances with retrying the map. Also, I need to bump my play count to 10000 now! XD

I prefer getting as close as I can (<5000) then just nofail+mods to get the exact score needed. You end up with less D ranks that way

I guess the closest for me that's reasonable is 200,000,000 or 222,222,222. I'll aim for that because there's people with 2 fetishes...Eventually. >_>; I don't know about 2222 or 2000 plays though.

I think an easy way though to get a good amount of plays when it comes to getting the score is to first get to the target score as fast and as close to the score as possible without going over.

Once you're there, you'll have x attempts to get that one desirable score. Assuming you don't mess up and use all your attempts (Which shouldn't be the case unless you like exiting songs), you'll get the target score with x amount of plays left.

Now all you need to do is go to some ranked beatmap, play a bit, then quit. That'll count as one more play to your plays...And just keep spamming on and on with that until you reach your desired playcount...

I'll give an example.

Suppose I want to get to 100,000,000 with an 1,000 playcount.

Let's say I play until I reach 99,998,000 with only a 980 playcount (Just using these numbers to make it easier with math). I need 2,000 points to reach 100,000,000 and I have 20 shots to do it. All right, suppose it took me only 1 play to reach that 2,000 point mark and voila, I have 100,000,000 points. But I only have 981 plays. How can I get the remaining 19 plays?

Just go to whatever ranked beatmap and play a little then quit. Doing this 19 times will get to 1000 plays...
Though this will jack up your level score depending on how you do...:X
