I've been working on making a large recommendation chart however it was becoming apparent there are still many notable and influential series' I want to check out before making anything with permanent form. So instead I have devised a list of 100 anime that showcase the best that anime has to offer where regular recommendations tend to fail. While quality is very much important I also wanted to include a focus of unique and influential titles from the anime scene as well as a large distribution of genres, age and running lengths, catering to all kinds of fans as well.

For one, it's still unfinished but so are a couple of shows on your list and since you wanted to make a list full of unique anime that catered to many fans, I feel you should include at least one CG anime and Houseki no Kuni fits the bill.

Why? It isn't much different from what some call me anyway. Thread was just for something to link to as a response for recommendation requests as long as it isn't deleted I don't care what happens to it..

i liked akagi and one outs but for me kaiji was better than both of them. my reasoning is mainly that kaiji, compared to akagi and tokichi, is also likely to lose and not protected by any sort of plot armor. especially one outs is really close to what one punch man opts for "nobody wins, but i" is literally part of the title. i think already knowing that both of them are gonna win everytime takes away a lot of the atmosphere and makes it less realistic.

Exactly why they are better. They are constantly forced to build on an established rule set and innovate by pushing them to their limits. Kaiji way too often just blind sights with stupid shit like the glass bridge, with an established rule set they can't do that while still introducing neat gimmicks like the glass tiles in Akagi.
