I mean, sure you could see the mini-notification on the little profile box on the game and calculate your recent pp gain there.
But I think this feature will be useful whenever you're looking at a friend's recently played and see how much pp they gained over the course of 24 hours (yes, you could also get that from the graph, I know). And also yours, obviously.
I dunno, seems like a niche suggestion, but I think it can have its moments.
