"There is currently a work-around that may allow you to bypass this issue. Since you have the first 19 characters of the code already, you can basically try guessing the last character," explains the EA customer support site, helpfully.

"To do this, simply enter your existing code, and then for the last character, try the letters A-Z, and then the numbers 0-9. You should eventually get the right combination, and be able to play the game."
fucking classy. EA is just digging themselves a grave they can never climb out of.

Dear God. Seriously, they need to actually check their damn games every so often during the burning/packaging processes.

...seriously?

My view on serial numbers and DRM is that it just creates hassles for people who actually BUY the games, while completely bypassing the pirates whom everyone knows are going to just download cracked copies and keygens off uTorrent.

It's not supposed to stop pirates, it's supposed to stop the market for used games. inb4consoledrm

Let's hope they don't fuck up a certain game that comes out on Wednesday. I'd laugh to death if they screwed up twice that quickly, and I want to live.

P.S. I'm still amazed they did that, and I'm still laughing hard at how this is their brilliant solution.
