So you're reading this now and realize i'm a total forum noob. aha, mind reader, I know.

I've played this game for a quite some time from a friends house, and I mainly play CTB; slowly getting into standard as well.

I now have it for myself since I've acquired a laptop.I've taken an interest in mapping, but the whole system of how things are done really just

confuses me. also, I see tons of maps being submitted all the time. Would it really be worth my time to even bother learning about it, and

participating in that area of the community? Also, if possible, could you explain to me the process of how things are done, from upload to

ranked. Obviously I don't know anything, so feel free to make clever comments and link me to things right under my nose that explains it

all.

Is it worth your time? That's up to you to decide. As for the rest, http://osu.ppy.sh/p/faq

1. You make a map and upload it.
2. You link it to everyone to tell you what is wrong with it.
3. Map gets fixed.
4. A BAT comes along and think it's all cool.
5. Another BAT comes along and thinks it's all cool or thinks it's not all cool. In that case, go back to step 3.
6. Map gets ranked!

I see..the process seems simple enough, but care to explain what BAT is, and how im supposed to link it to everyone?

Beatmap Approval Team, they help with beatmaps and make them ranked when they think they are good enough.

You upload the map, go to the thread of the map, copypaste the url and link it to other people you know in the community.

ah, that'd be difficult for me since I know no one...oh well, thanks for telling me.
