one strategy of playing mafia is to setup spec, I don't know why any town would be against it

If I had to guess, you have a character that would be easily associated with Town in this game, so you'd gain something nonetheless even if we claimed and you'd manage to successfully convince people that flavor is important (when it's not).

From what I read on Undertale Wiki my character would fit both as Town and Mafia flavor-wise. I will not be bringing up this topic again and anyone who does so will look suspicious in my eyes.
