This is a bit hard to explain but I'll try.
I'm talking about the skin images mania-key1, mania-key2, mania-keyS, mania-keyTURN and their held down counterparts with a D at the end. If you use a skin where the buttons just light up when you hold them down then you might not even notice this, and it wouldn't affect you at all. However, if you use a skin where the buttons are black or invisible when not pressed, and the button shows up only when you hold it, then this becomes pretty obvious.
When you release the buttons you use to play osu!mania with, the skin doesn't react instantly and change the keys from key1D to key1 for example. It has a few tenths of milliseconds where it'll keep showing the key as being pressed down. This makes the game look laggy and weird and it just doesn't look good no matter how you look at it. On faster songs, the keys show up as being held down pretty much all the time.
I would like the keyD images to show up only as long as you hold the keys down, no more and no less. That would make the game look snappier and it would give you better visual feedback. I'm assuming that the images were given a delay so that Auto, which probably releases notes the same millisecond it presses them, wouldn't look weird. Either that or peppy likes the light effect more when it has a persistence effect.
If you still have no idea what I'm talking about, then I invite you to try my skin: http://puu.sh/pP3zY/0b2e80c78f.osk . Just start a mania song and mash your keys really fast, and the keys will show up as being held down pretty much all the time, instead of being released roughly half the time.
This is a very small request which could probably be solved in a matter of minutes, yet I have a feeling that it will be ignored or declined for some asinine reason.

When you press keys really fast, it looks like this:
When it should look something like this, more or less, as it would accurately represent when the key pressed and when it is released:
I've made this by speeding up a slower recording so it might still look different from what it should look like when you press keys fast.
