I don't use Facebook and Myscape at all. Is this bad?

It let me keep in contact with friends over the summer and makes it easier to communicate outside of school and stuff. Also lets you know what other people are up to. All this without any ugly user pages or crap like that.
It doesn't suck at all, it works wonderfully. It's a communication tool and it does that job well.
I just made a facebook like a month ago, and honestly its retarded. I don't personally care what my 7th grade best friend's having for dinner or what time my aunt is going to the grocery store. I never spend more than a total of like 3 minutes a day on Facebook.
I usually just glance at/skim the newsfeed and see if there's anything worth reading. That takes about 0.5 to 10 seconds. I then see if someone's online that I want to talk to. If not, I see if I have any notifications. If not I then close the tab. I do that a few times a day.
It does what I want it to do, even if half the time I close the tab without doing anything. I have fun with it often enough to make it worth it, plus it's sort of a routine now. Having only about 50 or so people that I mostly care about probably help with that, so does my not reading stuff I don't give a damn about.
I will admit that my last post probably came out the wrong way. My bad, sorry. It's useful to me and others, that's all I meant. I will never understand how someone can waste hours on Facebook though. You don't seem like the type to care about it though.
EDIT: Note that I'm a news freak/stalker who cares about tiny insignificant news about just about anything. Not everyone is like me since I'm a freak so I understand if you don't like FB. I'm just stating my viewpoint and why I like it.

I usually just check facebook every hour if I'm near the computer and skim newsposts, comment if I see anything interesting. I'm not like strager who comments on every status ever. Get off my facebook strager!
