normal is suck gonna get a GD probably, want to spread the big dog

Insane needs some work prob since apparently it looks like i intentionally mapped for diff even tho that isn't the case lol

normal is gone til' I can get a GD for it since it was basically a donut with crappy note density

  1. 00:00:797 (3,1) – A bit nazi, but stacks like this aren’t perfect and there’s an easy way to fix it. Just select one of the objects and adjust it here:
    There may be more cases like this, but I’m not gonna point them all out.
  2. 00:02:588 (3,2) –Try to avoid this slight overlap. I doubt it was intentional.
  3. 00:07:066 (7,8) –Try adding a hitsound here to emphasize this sound. I suggest the drum-sample. This will apply to all the diffs.
  4. 00:05:499 (1) – I realized that in the beginning section of the song, this is the only place where you placed a whistle. Why not place whistles at other parts as well? Like here: 00:00:126 (1,1,1) – etc, etc. throughout the entire diff. This will apply to all the other diffs as well.
  5. 00:07:961 (3) –Since there are vocals here, I would rather not start this slider on the red tick. I think there are better rhythms that can be used. Like:

  3. I don’t think a kiai will really fit for this song since there isn’t a chorus that stands out. The entire song is actually the same.
  4. 00:25:200 (1) –Change this circle into a short slider to catch this vocal as well: 00:25:424 –

  1. Since the slider velocity is so slow, you can increase the distance spacing just a little bit. Something like: 1.4X The objects doesn’t have to be that close to each other.     Keeping DS as it is. This is a kids song; I want the easiest diff to be very, very easy. I actually got my younger cousin to playtest this (she's 5) and she was able to do it. I don't really want this diff to be harder

Like here: 00:00:126 (1,1,1) – etc, etc. throughout the entire diff. This will apply to all the other diffs as well. The whistle was to emphasize the "woof" that ol cliffo does here. I prefer not to use them elsewhere.
  5. 00:07:961 (3) –Since there are vocals here, I would rather not start this slider on the red tick. I think there are better rhythms that can be used. Like:

I really suggest you fix the spacings using the distance snap function so that the map would look neat and proper (for now your current is 1.2, making it 1.19 or 1.21 is okay but not more or less unless if you plan to make jumps)

I'm gonna hold off on updating Easy for now, I hate to find MORE GDs for it but I honestly have no clue how to map Easies, I tried my best for this one but it seems there are fatal flaws in terms of how I do the rhythm and flow. I have this same problem with Normals; I haven't played these maps in so long (outside of like HD HR DT FL lol) so I have no idea how to properly map them.

Perhaps tommorow when I'm not tired af I'll go back and try to properly respond to these mods. They're great mods, so thanks for that ~

Im not telling you to remap this as it has potential but the spacing usage is very confusing as in

you used 1.2x at first and it switches from 1.2 to 1.1 and 1.3 (im not sure if this is intentional or an accident)
I really suggest you fix the spacings using the distance snap function so that the map would look neat and proper (for now your current is 1.2, making it 1.19 or 1.21 is okay but not more or less unless if you plan to make jumps)

Fixed all the distances, should be consistent unless it's not on purpose or for aesthetics

Heh, nah, I wouldn't do that. I will definitely consider remapping easy though. I wanted to avoid 1/2 rhythm (and consequently, 3/2 rhythm) to make this map as easy as possible (as, you know, it's clifford!), but if that sacrifices the quality of the map overall I'll change my mind on that. Still thinking about it.

Also, I actually kinda like my Hard diff a lot c:

tl;dr - no 1/2 rhythm. Like I said; I want this diff to be really really easy, and if that means using only 1/1 rhythm (except for that 3/2 guitar thing), then so be it. I want the difference between notes to never be smaller than 1/1

- 00:09:081 (3,4) - if the point is to follow the guitar here then use a 3/2 slider at 00:09:081 - instead since it fits better imo. also naziing your placement a little bit, 00:07:290 (1,2,3,4) - looks kinda meh personally because you curved the slider slightly then made a straight line out of the slider head and the circles Fixed the palcement, kept the rhythm
- 00:11:767 (2,3) - similar as the above, remove the repeat and add another 3/2 slider at 00:12:663 - same
- 00:16:245 (2,3,4) - song still doesn't change no change here

yeah my main issue with this diff is the rhythm, sometimes you follow an instrument, sometimes you sorta follow a vocal, but mostly notes placed every white tick

Yeah, I mostly followed the instruments in this diff, occasionally maybe using a hit circle to emphasize a vocal. I like the whtie tick rhythm because i want this diff to be ezpz lemon squeezee

00:19:827 (3,4) - maybe consider placing a 3/2 slider on 00:19:827 - as it allows for the prominent beat on 00:20:499 - to be "played" I think it's fine here because the palyer would be clicking the drum and the prominent beat you mention is captured in the slider
00:28:782 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - I kinda have a problem with the aesthetics overall, but this one has bugged me the most so far, it seems far too linear for no real reason to me well i mean i can say that some parts are too curved for no real reason too..its just like a pattern i guess. I changed it because u prob know what ur talking about lol
00:36:394 (2,3,4) - Any reason why the flow is pretty sharp here? I would expect something like this for a downbeat, not the thing following it reallyfixed

You should look for some inconsistencies in the diff w/ the ds, some places such as 00:38:185 (4,1) - are notably closer than usual so yeah, polish that up will do

It doesn't really feel particularly smooth, mostly since the aesthetics and movements you have players doing is pretty sharp, for example 00:47:140 (1,2,3) - you have linear movement for 1,2,3 as well as 3 being a linear slider so like, it's kinda ew, but that's mostly since I like easies that flow perfectly zz [b]i see your point, fixed some stuff

Is it normal that the volume of the mp3 gets quieter / louder sometimes? For me the differences sometimes are really ridiculous, so maybe try to fix it somehow.
The song itself is probably multi-bpm. At least some parts like 00:41:320 are extremely off. Might get an expert for some help, but a change is definitely needed.

Well there's not much to say about the diff. It's just boring that the transition are mostly completely straight rather than having zig-zags somethings that at least make the map look like people have put some effort into it. Also, the 3/2 repeat-slider you used don't really make sense rhythm wise, so sticking to the normal 1/1 mapping would be the best.

Sometimes the DS gap got larger due stacks, you can fix them by adjusting them without using DS. Not a problem at all since it's really minor and barely noticable ingame, but I have to mention something here. xd

00:07:961 (3) - Since you try to mix instrumental and vocal mapping you should consider making this one clickable at the white tick. It's definitely audible that the vocal starts there.
00:29:902 (4,5,6) - Guitar and vocal get calmer here, and so should be the patterning.
00:42:439 (3,4,5) - Pattern like this are weird due not having an acute angle. Especially since the regular DS you used here is differently people might get surprised and miss because they need to move their cursor in a different speed. I suck at describing.

Well, I intentionally made this diff really simple in terms of flow and stuff, I mean there are some things to make it not just straight lines or a circle or whatever but yea I really did my best to make this a really Easy "Easy"

Hellow. From #modreqs. I still debt you another mod on a map you posted on my queue, but I wanted to mod this one first. x'D Modding only the insane since I guess is the one which presents more issues according to my eyes.

[General]
  1. I really liked the combo-color usage you chose to this map, however, the red one is hard to see sometimes due to the video people who play with video. I heavily suggest you to change it for pink or purple to avoid this.
  2. Consider add to tags Nathan_Kiss because it was Kisses previous username.
  3. According to the new spread rule system, having two hard difficulties isn't really necessary. I know you would like to keep it but it would be the same of having two normal diffs or two easy diffs when the current meta is to avoid those mapsets with a lot of extras to get ranked.
[Fireworks of Flavor] Nice insane! Nonetheless, I have some points that I'd like to discuss with you regarding the playability of jumps used over the entire difficulty:
  1. 00:00:803 (3,4,5) - The transition that these elements is somehow awkward because isn't intuitive to have a jump here 00:01:475 (4,5) - when the strong beat/vocal resides here 00:00:803 (3,4) - . The way I see thing, I think it would play better if you placed them differently but highlight the vocal of the girl here 00:01:475 (4) - What about if we rather emphasize a jump between these 00:00:803 (3,4) - without changing the pattern itself? Like this:
  2. 00:10:878 (1) - I see what you intended to do here but this flow isn't leading the players to catch nicely the jump here. I think we should focus on the based DS you managed while building up the difficulty. Hence, how about if we do Ctrl + G over this slider 00:10:878 (1) - to develop a smoother flow here? In this way the transition from 6 to 1 wouldn't be so huge as it was and would approach the players nicely to the next pattern. What do you think? o:
  3. 00:10:878 (1,3) - I don't want to be picky but this blanket is still not nice. ;w;
  4. 00:19:833 (1,2,3) - vs 00:12:669 (1,2) - Variation is important but having different rhythms despite knowing both sections are rather similar is questionable. The way I see it, I think we should keep in mind how players will react to both patterns because you've been mapping the instruments constantly until now. Therefore, I highly suggest you to make them the same to develop slightly the rhythm structure of this pattern. I think this one 00:12:669 (1,2) - plays much better. What do you think?
  5. 00:22:967 (5) - Place this one here 208|68 to develop a nicer transition to the flow this creates to the following object.
  6. 00:24:087 (3,4,5,6,7) - This is only a suggestion but what about if we place it as a star pattern? In this way, players can aim more intuitive the circle patterning that you made here and improve the flow from 00:24:982 (7) - to 00:25:206 (1) - . Like as well as you did here 00:43:788 (4,5,6,7) -
  7. 00:29:236 (3,4) - Ctrl + G these to improve the flow. As it is now, it might mislead the actual purpose of the curve of this slider 00:29:684 (5) -
  8. 00:53:639 (6) - For a better readability of this pattern, what about if we increase the distance between these 00:53:415 (5,6) - ? Placing 6 around here 192|368 would fir this pattern the best.
  9. 00:58:117 (1) - Please, consider adding a whistle here. Leaving this last-object with no hitsounds on it feels somewhat empty.

I know you would like to keep it but it would be the same of having two normal diffs or two easy diffs when the current meta is to avoid those mapsets with a lot of extras to get ranked. I didn't ask for the extra Hard, Gero offered to make it since he liked the show as a kid. Why turn him down, ya know? I'll keep both for now, if this issue comes up I'd rather delete my diff than Gero's, but I really like both of them so hopefully ti's fine.

Like this: Instead of your suggestion, I moved it so there's a jump to 4, but put 5 with consistent spacing between 4 and 1, because I don't think a jump from 4 to 5 feels well. Thanks for the catch though; I agree completely.

You might have been able to tell that I tried to make a triangle there but it didn't feel super intuitive to play. your suggestion fixes this while still keeping the polygon pattern I intended.

What I did was remove the excess note, and moved 00:20:952 (3) - directly under 2. I then repositioned some sliders to make the spacing consistent. great idea.

This mod was very helpful thanks! It means a lot to see that fireworks is decent because it was one of the first insanes i've ever made lol (made it way before I uploaded this mapset for fun, and was the reason I decided to even go for rank on this song)

I personally don't like it, but rules are rules, I guess. Like I said; if worse comes to wear I'd delete my diff over Gero's diff because Gero was kind enough to invest his time into making a map for this set and I want to honor that.

Hopefully I don't have to resort to this.

EDIT - asked monstrata and he said it was fine, so there's that i guess

Lol, I'm actually surprised someone remembers xdddd. I wouldnt do this because
1. I had no maps and GDs ranked when my username was Nathan Kiss and I was pretty much a nobody as well.
2. I don't even want to be remembered as Nathan Kiss
3. Nathan kiss is now fully deleted from my song library and would like to keep it that way ;P

should be ok ;)
2 easy and normal diffs is unneeded but 2 hards is perfectly fine imo especially with so many advanced diffs being made recently. Im sure he can ask gero if he can rename it to advanced if it ever became an issue xd
