The origin of my name was a spark of inspiration from Panasonic (so yea, that's the reason why #chinese calls me battery. To be exact, the single name of Pasonia was Panasonic - na - c + a, and I began using that name on Neopets.

I used to call myself sonic_1988, but that sucked so I disassociated myself with that nickname fairly quickly.

Seltia Keros (as seen on my fanfiction site) is actually a middle/last name I devised for Pasonia whom I began to see as my alter-ego. It was supposed to mean "swordsman of the seven winds"and is supposedly originated from the lost language of Glastheim (the same city from Ragnarok Online). In games and offline profiles where I can have a fairly long name WITH spaces, I usually put Pasonia Seltia Keros or place the S.K. in front.

Oh, I haven't posted mine yet.

Basically I suck at making usernames, so after sitting there trying to think of one for 10 minutes I typed in an emoticon I like using. Bam.

I actually don't even use the emoticon anymore because it just seems weird to me now.

DataCirno was just a temporary nickname while I was thinking better one. Data comes from word datanomi(datanome) and I think Cirno is pretty obvious, though I am not so big touhoufag.

LunaticMara is what I have been using since 2010, just happens to be perfect nickname for me. Because people started to call me batshit insane and crazy, I looked dictionary and found word "lunatic". Then I took my favorite nickname IRL (Mara) and put it next to lunatic. LunaticMara. Still many people calls me as Lunatic (on vent) and really stupid people calls me as Luna, but at least I can understand it.

I remember trying to think of a cool username for... this...

I was like, grade 3 or something. Geez.

Anyways, I really liked the name and use it everywhere.

"But Droney, where did the numbers come from?"

Oh god you don't want to know.

On Neopets I was known as Petguy311. :oops:

So then whenever "Powerdrone" was taken, I used Powerdrone311. But Powerdrone was very rarely taken, so I was always known as Powerdrone. Then one day I decided to make an AoM online account... and low and behold Powerdrone was taken. So I used Powerdrone311, then I used it for the AoM forums, then when I was introduced to Ace Attorney Online I kept the numbers, and then to make sure everyone would know me for some reason I kept using those god damn numbers.

Man I'm glad I got rid of them finally. <3

My username has been in use for 2-3 years by myself.


Main username:

Time for some arithmetic.

First name Robbie = Ro - bbie = Ro

kodou = Japanese for pulse, but can be translated as drum beat.

To keep the name looking nicer from my perspective... kodo - u = kodo (and incidentally KODO is a Japanese taiko group)

Ro + kodo = Rokodo


Notes:

If Rokodo by itself is not available for the reason that it has been registered already or I am using another IRC connection on the same server etc. etc. I will use one of these:

RokodoRL (real life first/last name initials tacked on at the end)
Rokorz (Roko + orz hybrid - orz is an emoticon of a person kneeling, usually used in frustration or failure)


EDIT: before anyone accuses me of being a weeaboo I initially started using this name as a player name for Taiko no Tatsujin.

Nivalis comes from Latin language I found one day, originating from niv- "snow" + -alia "something associated in a particular area", so "Nivalis" is something related to snowy land.

...and, uh, because this name sounds usable, I use it.

Lanttu is the Finnish word for Brassica napobrassica.

Where I got this nickname is very long story, from my very early internet years with Pokémon. Back then I used a name that starting "La" and resembling the name of this yellow electric mouse, but when I started to grow too old for pocket monsters I decided to change my name to something simpler.

I don't remember where I got the idea for Lanttu, but since then it's been my official nickname, almost everyone calls me that IRL too. 8)

In my engineering school (I dunno if it's the proper name here) When you arrive the 1st year your seniors get you a nickname generally based on your name (generally word relating) OR something that happened.


So for my part, from my last name : Torin :arrow: Taureau (Bull) :arrow: Otoro :arrow: Tuna :arrow: Tuna Sushi :arrow: Sushi

My old user name was so generic, "Alex0686" but at the time I was younger and I didn't care.

One day out of boredom I drew a picture of a strawberry and made it my avatar, and the old #mod community started calling me "strawberry" or "strawberry-kun" and it stuck, not just for osu! either, made it my user name for other places... :)

Or that's how I remember it..?

Bwahaha, I can now make another post in this thread since I changed my name!! And so far some people are saying it's bad, some like it a bit, so ._.

Anyways, Kitsunemimi -> Kitsune + mimi

Kitsune being fox in Japanese (random obsession of foxes in the past while), and mimi literally meaning ears. So that makes it literally, 'fox ears' but as many of you may know, 'nekomimi' can mean 'catgirl' (so can all other animal + ear combinations; kemonomimi). And thus, my name actually means 'foxgirl'-- wait wha..

For people wondering "WHYYY WOULD YOU CHANGE YOUR NAME?!?!" I'll just paste a bit of what I wrote earlier here just to explain the basic reasoning behind this.

In a game called rumble fighters on my second account my first name was Under9000. One day I was like hey, that's too long of a name. /look for random 4 letter name. came up with Soba. some prick stole Soba in this game ;-; so I added - and - to it.

I belong a Guild in an online game called "Quaelum Circle"
We have a unique feature where all members' name must start with "Qua" (or at least, most of them)
I was thinking of my "Qua name" and I difficulty with it
I suddenly thought of Pokemons out of random and "Rayquaza" came out of my mind
I re-arranged it to "Quarayza" and fiddled around with the letters
thus, Quaraezha.

It came from the pokemon "Rayquaza"
I'm no Pokemon fan.

In my case, I wanted to find a name that has the letters 'k', 'r' and 'h' coz I think a name with these three letters is nice to pronounce.

Then, in 2003, I was exposed to the Japanese language and one of the first words that I've heard is 'kuro'. At the same time also, I saw one of my friends writing down her online nickname 'time hacker'. Things clicked together in my head and the name kurohacker emerged.

...Unfortunately, since I was a baka at that time, I spelled my name wrongly and used 'korohacker' instead coz I honestly thought that black in Japanese is koro (I never actually saw the word in writing, and I've misheard). Only after 4 years did I found out that I've been using the incorrect spelling all along /orz.

Realizing my mistake, I've changed the spelling to kurohacker, and that is what I am known in the net for four years now. :D

I wrote a short story (It was still like 12 pages on word) when I was about roughly 10, and one of the characters was named Shiirn. It was an absurdly depressing story that made one of my friends at the time start crying ;_;. I lost the original copy but I remember the basic story... For some reason the name stuck with me throughout my life, and it quickly became my handle for all of my online ventures. The fact that it was magniloquent and strange meant it was unlikely to be taken, which helped immensely.
