edit.

@aquabluu: Discuss about this PV :3<<<
Zekira
Maybe we can just make another thread where only aqua should post

It will contain the maplist. Then the first post of this thread should contain the link to the new thread

And then this thread will be left solely for discussion and submissions.

How's that sound? We need a BAT/Moderator to sticky the new thread once it's up though.

We'll also need permission for someone to monitor the thread just in case someone not named aqua decides to reply in it...

Zekira's idea sounds good :) The thread with the list has to be stickied too, though.

@pokedigi: Not that easy. To do that I'll need the second post to be edited out. I should've reserved it long ago, but can't be done now.

@OnosakiHito: Usually everyone's maps, but then I miss a few here and there. You'll have to remind me if that happens.

@arien: Insert that video into your After Dark map why don't you :)

If the other thread will be discussing about Taiko maps, then what will happen to this one? Become a general Taiko discussion, or keeping us updated with more maps? :| I hope this thread doesn't get closed...

In other news, 300 playcount finally, getting me this beetle costume to complete my entire clothing set. :D Currently working on FCing everything, did all Kantan/Futsuu/Muzukashii, and all Oni 8-star and below plus Knuckle Heads, working on Le Tombeau de Couperin atm. I probably would stop once I finish off the 9 stars though, Hataraku and Metal Hawk are plain impossible... :o
Zekira
Just finish all except Hataraku and Metal Hawk, that should be enough

Still working on trying to FC Metal Hawk though... I wonder if I can actually get my last gold crown >_>

@aqua: problem is we have to contact someone, but I really think that we need a separate thread because of the millions of maps we have now.
OnosakiHito
Ah I understand, thx.
Also when some one made a map by himself? - Last question.

Of course, if I don't know about it, I can't include it in my list :P

@Zekira: I'm really, really out of the loop when it comes to socializing on osu (got so many other things to do it's crazy). If one of you can help me contact a mod that'd be great. I'll shift the thread once that happens.
Zekira
LOL I don't know who'll respond to this request haha I'm not that close to the BATs/Mods

UPDATE:

I haven't forgotten about the taiko website. But we will have to wait a long time for the CMS I wanted to use for it.

Meanwhile please take note of this:
Start reuploading the taiko maps to two places - http://kodoup.astoni.sh and http://sharebee.com

Sharebee uploads the map and posts it to many file hosts at once, the link you get for sharebee will contain links to downloads at each of the upload sites available through that service. Got it?

This way even if my hosting is to be stopped or disrupted we have file mirrors.

---------------------------------------------------------------

This is how the new taiko website will work for the authentic maps:

Each assigned admin will have their own site "backend" account. You will be using a built in editor to update the article(s) contained on the authentic map page. The process will be similar to this:
1. Write Taiko no Tatsujin - Map Name :: download 1 | download 2
2. Highlight "download 1" and click make hyperlink button.
3. Enter the KodouUpload link and click OK to confirm.
4. Highlight "download 2" and click make hyperlink button.
5. Enter the Sharebee link and click OK to confirm.

Something like this would work well, and if you want to change or donate a mirror that can be done too.

User custom map pages are to be maintained by the user who owns it and they can use whatever hosting they want to, but they are responsible for it.

---------------------------------------------------------------

If there are no objections I will be assigning these admins to maintain and update the Authentic Maps page of the website:

aquabluu
arien666
lepidopodus
Zekira

I have chosen these people as they are the ones who work most in this thread in regard to authentic maps.
If you know any other worthy applicants, let me know and I'll add them to the list.

Once the website is up I can write a short tutorial on how to use whatever system I put into place.

@aquabluu: Please maintain this list as much as you possibly can through your own methods. If you keep the list on the forum, once the site is up I will ask you to send me the post content as you see it in the post editor inside a .txt file so I can convert the map list to the website to start us off. Hyperlinks require different code to the [url] tags that are used by this forum.

This is just a little something I wanted to share with any Paint.NET users who can't afford or simply can't find :p Adobe Photoshop to use the .PSD (Photoshop Document) files made by Rokodo to make the Taiko Backgrounds using the template.

I found a Paint.NET plug-in/add-on that allows the user to open up and even save Photoshop Document (.PSD) files. They work like .PDN (PaintDotNet/PDN/Paint.NET Document) files; so layer functionality/layer opacity works just fine.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find the link to the download of the plug-in, so instead, I shall include the link to download the file.

How to Install the Plug-In and Fully Utilize it on Paint.NET
-1- Click here to download the "Photoshop.dll" Plug-in file
---The attachment is not an archive, it is a .dll (Dynamic Link Library) file required for this to work, so you must download/save this file to its proper location

-2- When asked to download the file, be sure to Save It to the following location:
C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/FileTypes

-3- Launch the Paint.NET program [paintdotnet.exe]

-4- Download any .PSD document (for example, the Taiko Background Templates by Rokodo)

-5- On the Paint.NET program, select open (or CTRL+O) and then find where you placed the .PSD file. Open the .PSD file

-6- If done Steps -1- to -5- correctly you should be able to open any Photoshop Document using Paint.NET! :D
---Continue reading Steps -7- and above if you want to find out how to open any Photoshop File using Paint.NET without the need of launching Paint.NET to open the file.

-7- On Windows Explorer (or basically, while browsing your documents and folders), find a Photoshop Document File (.PSD)

-8- Right Click on the .PSD file and Left-Click Properties

-9- Follow the instructions the Image supplies with below.

---Note: If the program Paint.NET does not appear in the Recommended Programs/Other Programs List, Select "browse..." and find the following file
c:/Program Files/Paint.NET/PaintDotNet.exe

-10- Back on the File Properties window, click Apply, and then click OK.

-11- Double Click the .PSD file

-12- Any .PSD file should now be able to launch Paint.NET and automatically open the .PSD file which you selected. Its that simple!

Enjoy the ease of opening up Photoshop Documents on Paint.NET.

Note: For people who want to try this out and/or get Paint.NET, go  here.

System Requirements for Paint.NET
OS: Windows 7 (recommended), or Windows XP SP3, or Windows Vista SP1+, or newer.
CPU: 800MHz processor (CPU)
RAM: 512MB RAM
Screen Resolution:1024 x 768 screen resolution
Extra Requirements: .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (Free Download from the Official Microsoft Website).
Zekira
lol I've actually been using PDN with that Photoshop addon mainly because of the less RAM it takes. I just load it with a million plugins to match some features of PS lol
roleykatsu
Paint.NET becomes an amazing Photoshop Substitute, if you download and install the right add-ons and use it right. :)

Uhm, I have a suggestion :o

I would've encountered the same notification (but with a different amount of characters) if I were to post all of the beatmaps/Taiko Maps I made on my signature; hence why I used a site-builder to make a site to host all of my beatmap links.

Now, for the sake of making an improvise that is still conveniently located on the osu! Website/Forums, my suggestion ain't a good idea, but what if we hosted all the links to the Taiko beatmaps on a separate website? It could be done using YolaSite (which is what I used for my site), or anything else, up to you. :?

Th-Those...They're....all the hidden costumes....unlocked with the passwords....Now I understand....*drools* Translate a bit more and it says here that all the figurines can make sounds if you tap a button on them. These sounds are played to the DS mic in the sound password screen to unlock that costume in the game. The text passwords are only there for people who don't have access to the toys/can't use the DS mic for some reason.

Also, Papa Mama Mac will be included in Taiko 14.

Also, I like that Taiko-themed McDonalds card at the end. LAWL. Japan gets all the good stuff.

@Kim Jin Seok: The list is currently full. I'll put that map on reserve.

I have a good feeling that it WILL be Japan-only... :( Those toys are so cute, AND be an alternative to password unlocks. Oh well, since I have all the password unlockables it won't matter to me anyway.

And LOL McDonald Taiko 14. I wonder if it will only be like that once you unlock the McDonald song, or be there by default.

Also, FC'd Le Tombeau de Couperin and Hyakki Yakou (Normal route). I also noticed, for some reason, the Normal route is ALWAYS the easiest to FC, no matter which Garyoutensei song. O.o"

And by the way aquabluu, in your blog "song series", you should probably add the IDOLM@STAR series in game musics.

I actually already know Normal route has the highest score, with its big notes capping at about 1.2m (got 1.08m with 150 ok hits). I was implying that the Normal route on Garyoutensei songs is the easiest to full combo (except maybe Shin Garyoutensei). :)

...Why to take care to the ugliest song series for Taiko? S:
We've just made killing all the Idolm@ster songs with the incoming 14th arcade... T.t
(now the only songs left to obliterate are Miku's, but they were sadly announced on 14th... Maybe I can hope in a miracle on 15th?

@aquabluu: is still unwritten the no Mai series article? I might have the idea to write it, in my spare time. :3

@aquabluu again: SPEED KING is for the iPhone game, it isn't confirmed for Ac14! (so far, at least...)

@crystalsuicune & others: for those fabulous Mc-gadgets there are only 4 ways to get: take notes!

1) A year trip to Japan
2) A friend or parent living in japan
3) eBay
4) a kidnapped Japanese guy who was visiting your hometown for holidays. xD

Nope, that's from all the big notes in Normal route. There's 100+ more big notes in Normal than the other two.

That being said it's still the easiest to FC out of the 3 routes.

Hi _______,

Thank you for the feedback you sent to us through our website.

We regret to inform you that unfortunately, we do not have plans to buy more of the Taiko no Tatsujin game machine as the first one we bought many years ago was a poor revenue performer. With regard to Marvel vs Capcom 3, please note that we shall research if this shall be made available for arcade use.

100 yen isn't all THAT expensive. At least you actually get 3 plays with 1 coin.

At my arcade, the AC11 asian is 2 coins, 2 songs, and the AC12 asian is 3 coins, 2 songs.

When I found this AC13 in Japan which only required 1 coin for 3 songs, god I was pissed that China stole my arcade money.

Aquabluu, I just read your Garyoutensei article, and I have some things to add.
- Shin Garyoutensei is the only song in the series to have a 2P map. Also in both 1P and 2P the Advanced notes is the score route, however with 2P exceeding 1.3m points (Master had way less notes). 2P notes: Master = 481, Advanced = 566, Normal = 512.
- Kurofune Raikou - the score route is actually Advanced notes, despite the lessened number of notes. This is because it has over 50 more big notes than Master.
- Fuun Shishi - Don't be fooled by 8-star - Master notes can be very tricky to get ahold of. That being said, the other 2 maps are easy to full combo.

You should also probably link to the other 2 routes of the songs, especially the score route ones.

Yeah that's all. Great articles by the way, I enjoyed the read!

Oh,and some more nitpicky stuff, but nothing too troublesome:
Firstly,I doubt that Shin Garyou Tensei is a remix of Garyou Tensei. To me,it's more like KiSai's relation to the original Saitama.
Secondly,Hyakka Ryouran strikes me as a chinese-flavoured song instead of a japanese-styled one.Not as much
as the Kikyoku series,but still...
Also, with Sengoku Sangen's name...it -might- have something to do with the song's instrument, because 三弦 is another name for
the shamisen, the main instrument used here. Also, what gunshot?I don't remember hearing one in Sengoku Sangen.
Perhaps you're talking about Fuun Shishi?
pokedigi
There's one of the cheapest gamecenter in China which is 2 coins for 2 songs. Each coin costs 0.4 CNY.
There are one 11, two 12, and one 11 Asia in this game center.
(1 CNY=0.15 USD=13JPY)

And in some city the average price is around 10 JPY per song.

Oh yeah, now I remember. The gunshot was from Fuun Shishi. I have to say though, both Sengoku Sangen and Fuun Shishi never registered in my mind because they were just so forgettable lol :P Thanks crystal and Propeller.

Also, I'm probably gonna need some help with the Advanced/Normal notes thing, it's gonna be tough finding videos for the whole lot. Does anyone have any vids to contribute? I'll add the score route information to the post.Nevermind, found 'em all.

EDIT: Can anyone translate this? It's AC12's Soroban Morse Code.

Speaking of morse code,I think the one for Kantan in AC13 should be "This time the Morse Code 2000 feels a bit chaotic.
About the question of Zeami's identity which everyone is talking about,it's actually 'Shi'."

Moar news on AC14,plus some pictures.

Muzukashii!SORA-III gets only 7 stars...perhaps it gets around 8-9 in Oni?
745 combo for Oni!Taiko Time.
Muzukashii!BRS gets 6 stars, shouldn't be too tough in Oni.

And judging from the Inner Blog Entry (check the source code for this entry),
we might have a new 2000 song, and it seems like there's another picture not shown in this

...finally. The latest 10-star map for Taiko 14th. Enjoy!

IN THE ZONE

@aquabluu: I've read the latest series article. Maybe you can find useful to add some details about the songs which are present on the song series which have a boss battle on Taiko Wii 2 or Taiko Ds3, as you've done for the SORA series. In detail:

Akuugan Yuuei Ac12.5 (Tungsten, the giant, pink mecha who raises high draughts)
Fuun ShinShi (Another giant blue mecha who throws rocks on the screen...I don't remember the name for this one...

@aquabluu,again: why don't add a section on Taiko Time that includes all the song which have in max combo 765 hits?
I've heard that 765 in japanese means Namco...
Propeller_Cap
I hope they release Taiko 14 sooner... I really don't want to wait that long.

Also, Namco should put pictures of the Oni difficulty of songs. Those are THE information that is actually important, not any of the crap from the other 3 difficulties.

They're fooling/trolling around with us.Duh.

@Lokamp http://zh-hk.taiko.wikia.com/wiki/%E5%88%86%E9%A1%9E:%E6%9C%80%E5%A4%A7%E9%80%A3%E6%AE%B5%E6%95%B8765 Here you go

And careful with the whole Tatsh=Zeami thing. The connection's painfully obvious, but right now it's just -fanon-,
as the taiko team (including Takahashi) and Tatsh himself never confirmed Zeami's identity.
I swear Tatsh composed Ryougen just to seriously troll with us
Propeller_Cap
Heh. Namco just likes playing around with the hardcore gamers. >.>;

Also, I found this website, should be useful for song list data. Easier to use than Wikihouse imo. (It IS safe don't worry.)

I'd actually been planning to do that, but there are so many songs that have 765 combo and no definite website that keeps a list of them all, it's hard to make one by myself. Along with 765, 777, 876, and 999 are other significant numbers. 876 means Bandai Namco.

In the Zone? That's the Ace Combat song that was supposed to come out on PSP on Augus- oh crap *goes to Youtube*

About the bosses, yeah, maybe I'll put it there as needed.

@Lokamp: You done with the 'no Mai' article yet? I wanna see it :D

I've checked it out, looks very similar to Kurenai o3o

About the combo number thing, perhaps we can add in 573?(not a namco-related number, but we do have songs with that combo num.)
Oh,and I added "Kani Prince" series into the song series list, cuz 765 said that it's going to be one, with a total of 4 songs.
(PaPaPa Love,Hole in the Wall and two more songs)

The Kani Prince thing hasn't been going on for a while though. Just those two songs from Muscle March :P Also, I'll add in 573 and 888 in the combo article later. If I'm missing any songs out of the list, please tell me.

Also, I'll update the songlist tonight, from Kim Jin Seok's map and up.

Aquabluu, in your "special numbers" post, you should also include 567 (backwards variant of Namco).

And also, for AC11 asian (not sure if it applies to other versions), it's like this:
- hit 2 times on the rim after oni for baisoku.
- hit 3 times on the rim after oni for sanbai.
- hit 4 times on the rim after oni for yonbai.
- hit 5 times on the rim after oni for abekobe.
- hit 5 times again to return back to normal.

Though there's no doron on asian versions...

Also, on 199 golds atm. What should I fc now? I have all the 10-stars left plus Okashi dega no uta.

It wasn't like that last time I checked.

I've seen someone show me all the codes on an AC11 asian, and it came out as exactly how I put it.

And besides Asian versions always has some kind of quirk in them (I'm pointing at YOU, C-Pop songs... why did you replace Variety ;_;).

Quote from my Taiko Time blog on the series.
This song was used in the boss battle with Teruru (Tellurium), the cosmic mecha, on Taiko Wii 2. The rhythm is slightly harder to grasp, as most of the notes are 1/3 compound beats.

On Oni it has 567 beats (sadly not 581). BPM is 144
Anyway, I'm preparing to enrol in my university course, so be prepared to not see me for a week or so. Rokodo, I trust you with the new Taiko site for that crazy huge list of maps on the front page. Everyone else, if you have anything to submit (to the song list or to Taiko Time blog), PM me. I'll check it out ;)

By Direct Download I mean I just copy the link location when one selects "Click to Start Download", so instead of going on the site to download the file, you can just select the link location I copied to start downloading it instantly. Works for me anyways :l

It won't if the user hasn't initiated that download first. To be simple, the download URL changes everytime someone accesses the download page. The download URL is also IP sensitive, it seems.
