Hello

I want to make a request to have the ability to toggle combo burst on/off while in-game. (please see picture below)

I'm hoping that this request will benefits standard mode and catch the beats mode for:
  1. serious players (whom play for PP)
  2. casual players (whom play for fun)

Why and How?

Well, let start with the serious player. At some point, I'm sure combo burst have messed up your combo or at least distracts you right? If you said no, then you're probably a robot. If you said yes, then you probably had to exit the song and waste about five seconds turning off combo burst. That's five second until you can play again! With this feature added, the option for combo burst will be right at your fingertips, saving you four seconds.

Jokes on you, my combo burst is already disable.
well, good for you! But, if you're the type of serious player that occasionally take it slow and play casually, then please keep reading on.

Because when you're a casual player, you enjoys seeing the beatmap's BG/video/storyboard and the combo burst because it shows the full potential of skins. So you pause the song you're playing and turn on video, turn on storyboard, set the dimmer to 30%, and turn on... combo...

nope, you will have to exit to the menu to turn on combo burst. And, like stated above, waste five seconds until you can play again. Again, easily avoided with this feature being added.

Why not just take the time to turn combo burst on and off?

Valid question. Besides saving you time, I also have another reason to why combo burst toggle should be in visual settings.

Please look to the provided picture above again. Ask yourself, why is there an option for:
  1. Background dim
  2. Storyboard
  3. Beatmap skin
  4. Beatmap hitsounds
  5. Video
I believe that these options are there so that you can easily and quickly decides how you want to play the map, whether it's casual or serious.

so why isn't combo bursts on that list? I don't know, but it should be.

If you think about how each options affect your gameplay, then you'll understand why combo bursts should be on that list.
Let's look at it from a serious player's perspective.

Storyboard: Flashy, bothersome, and make it harder to get FC. Causes lag.
Beatmap skin: a non-pro skin? no thanks, it will hurt my eyes, might mess up FC.
Beatmap hitsounds: may throws off the beats, may mess up FC.
Video: Flashy, bothersome, and make it harder to get FC. Causes lag.
Combo burst: Pop out at the worst time, may mess up FC.

See how combo burst fits in so well with those other settings?

Sorry that it's full of grammar, but thanks for reading! :)

First of all, that's quite a long post describing your request!

Generally speaking, all elements that are in the Visual Settings right now are map-related things. Combobursts are something overall, so they are just disabled over the main settings and it's up to the player to show them, because people can either play with them or not...I don't really think there's an in-between.

I don't think a toggle for it would hurt, as the other settings also have it, but I can understand why it's not there.

Things as Lighting, combo based sliderballcolors and similar all have the same issue
Those are skin options, as Pyuru said. No need for such a toggle
Are those 5 sec really that much of a hassle?

No not really. It just that's it would be a nice convenient to have it in visual settings.

There is ctrl + o to open the options wherever. I'm not sure this needs to be needed especially with the new option command, you can essientially use ctrl + o and search combobursts within the comfort of your own game.

Wow that's actually a very nice feature.

However, I can't seem to use ctrl + o in-game for some reason (i'm assuming that this feature is not in Stable (latest) yet). I can get it to work at song selection though, so that's still nice since that's one less step.
